Liangying town
Liangying Town, belonging to Chaonan District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the north foot of Danan mountain in East Guangdong Province and the middle of Chaonan district. It is 10 kilometers away from the central city of Chaonan (Xiashan Street). It borders simapu town in the north, Xiashan street in the northeast, Lugang town in the East, leiling town in the south, Hongchang town in the southwest and Xiancheng town in the West. The total area is 85.21 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, the registered residence of two towns was 220893. As of June 2020, Liangying town has jurisdiction over 13 communities and 17 administrative villages.
Liangying town is a famous knitting town in China, a pilot town of scientific and technological innovation in Guangdong Province and a central town in Guangdong Province. It is also an important economic town in Shantou City. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, markets flourished, textile, pottery, casting industry has a long history, has always been Chaoyang, Puning, Huilai three cities (counties) one of the important commodity distribution centers, has a "small Shantou" reputation.

Historical evolution
Chaoyang County was set up in the first year of Long'an (397) in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and Liangying town belongs to Chaoyang County.
In 819, Han Yu was banished to Chaozhou. At that time, Chaoyang County governed Xinxing, Xingren, fengen and Fenghuan. Liangying town is in Xingren township.
At the beginning of 1928, the first party congress of the CPC Chaoyang County Committee was held in Yuanshan village, Liangying town.
In 1935, the Guangdong Provincial Government of the Kuomintang set aside some areas from Chao, PU and Hui counties, and renamed them "Nanshan administration bureau" (equivalent to a three-level county government organization). The Administration Bureau (now the former site of Liangying hospital) is located in Liangying.
From 1941 to 1945, Chaoyang County government moved from Miancheng to Hefeng village. The county government was located in taiyili, Hefeng village.
After liberation, the "Nanshan administration bureau" was abolished in March 1950, and Liangying returned to Chaoyang County as the 10th District. In 1952, it was called the 12th district, and in 1956, it was called Liangying township. In 1958, it merged with simapu to form Qunying people's commune, in 1961, it was called Liangying people's commune, in 1983, it was changed into Liangying District, and in 1986, it was changed into Liangying town.

History and culture
The origin of place names
Liangying, in the first year of Qianlong (1736) of the Qing Dynasty, had become a fair. There was a small hill in the east of the fair, with dense bamboo forest, wind blowing and bamboo shaking, and the sound was like crow crowing. Therefore, it was named wuyiwei, and later it was named Yingwei. Because the old fair was set up in the north of the river, and then the new fair was set up in the south of the river, it was called liangyingwei. The town is a place name.

There are many cultural and sports activities in Liangying Town, such as flute set music, string poem music, Chaoshan Yingge, big gongs and drums. Yongfeng Yingge team is the first Yingge team in Chaoshan area of Chaonan after the founding of new China. It once went to Beijing to perform in the province.
Religious culture
Guxiju has one Catholic Church and two Christian churches; it is owned by the famous shidaochang, guxiyan, shengguanyan, xindieshi nunnery, Xinxiang Shande nunnery, Jinou Yide nunnery, Jinou Changning nunnery, caifei nunnery and longfu nunnery. There are also good houses scattered in the villages.
