Pingshan street, belonging to Pingshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the center of Pingshan district. It borders Malan street in the East and south, Longtian street in the East and North, biling street in the West and south, and Baolong street in Longgang District in the West and North. It covers an area of 11.78 square kilometers. As of 2017, Pingshan street has a permanent population of about 142 thousand people, with a registered residence of about 12 thousand and 500 people. As of June 2020, Pingshan street has four communities under its jurisdiction.
Pingshan street is the political, economic, financial and transportation center of Pingshan district. There are Pingshan station in Shenzhen and many highways passing through it. There are mature business circles in the district. The tertiary industry is relatively developed. There are Dongjiang column Memorial Hall representing Pingshan red culture, and Pingshan cultural landmark District Cultural Center.
As of 2017, Pingshan street has two community joint-stock companies with 1604 shareholders, total fixed assets of 38.52 million yuan and annual output value of 17.92 million yuan.
Historical evolution
Pingshan street has a long history. According to the research of Song Dynasty copper coin hoard site in songziling, Han people moved to Pingshan in the Southern Song Dynasty.
In Pingshan area, it belonged to Panyu County of Nanhai County in Qin Dynasty, BOLUO County in Han Dynasty to three kingdoms, Bao'an County in Jin Dynasty to Tang Dynasty and Dongguan County in Song Dynasty.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Pingshan belonged to Guishan county. From 1684 to 1780, Hakkas moved here one after another. Laowei and luowu became the second villages, which were collectively called pingshanwei.
During the period of the Republic of China, Pingshan belonged to Huiyang county.
From October 1949 to November 1957, Pingshan township was subordinate to the Fourth District of Huiyang county.
In December 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. Other townships in the fourth district were merged into Pingshan township.
In October 1958, Pingshan commune was established and put under Bao'an County in November of the same year.
In July 1983, the commune system was abolished and Pingshan district was set up.
In October 1986, Pingshan Town was established.
In January 1993, Baoan county was divided into Baoan District and Longgang District, and Pingshan Town was subordinate to Longgang District.
In 2004, all towns in Longgang District were removed and streets were set up. Pingshan street is still under the jurisdiction of Longgang District.
On October 20, 2016, Pingshan and Kengzi were divided into Pingshan, Malan, biling, Shijing, Kengzi and Longtian.
On January 7, 2017, Pingshan district was established, and Pingshan street is subordinate to Pingshan district.

Place name source
After pingshanwei village, there is a broad and low hill called "dongtouling mountain". Except for the higher Tiantou mountain in the southeast, the rest of the hills are flat and square, so Pingshan is named.

Pingshan is a Hakka settlement with the tradition of dancing Kirin. Since its establishment, Pingshan Kirin dance has a history of more than 100 years. In the 1920s and 1930s, Kirin dance activities became popular, and more than 30 Kirin museums were opened. The footprints of Kirin dance have been all over Danshui, Hong Kong and Dongguan, which can be said to be very popular. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, with the turbulent years, Kirin dance activities gradually disappeared.
Since the reform and opening up, with the social stability and economic development of Pingshan, the Hakka Kirin dance brand of Pingshan has been built, and 19 Kirin teams have been established. Qilin Chengxiang, a Kirin dance brand created in 2004, has won many awards in competitions at all levels of the city and district, enjoying a certain reputation and popularity.
The Qilin dance in Pingshan is deeply influenced by the traditional folk culture of Han nationality and Confucianism and Taoism. Toyota Shiju is located in Liulian community of Pingshan street, covering an area of about 10000 square meters. It is Huang Shiju, which was built in 1799. In the center of the main wall of Shiju, there is a gate called "main gate", which is engraved with four golden characters "Toyota Shiju" above the forehead; there are two side doors, the east gate is "Dongheng gate", and the west gate is "xiheng gate". Wang bichi, a half moon shaped pond in front of the house, is called "Yuechi" (Zugong pond). The whole enclosure is backed by zhuguling, mountain and water, which is the unity of heaven and man. The plane layout is "three halls, two horizontal quadrangle" structure. The houses are symmetrical, surrounded by high walls and in the shape of "Hui". There are whistles and gun holes on the wall, patrol roads on the top of the wall, and turrets on the four corners. The ancestral hall is set in the middle and surrounded by row houses. The tile eaves, beam frames, screen doors, window plaques and gallery walls in the enclosed house are all exquisite in workmanship, and the wood carvings and gray sculptures are exquisite.

Dongjiang column Memorial Hall
Dongjiang column memorial hall is located on Dongzong road of Pingshan sub district office in Pingshan district. It is also the hometown of Zeng Sheng, commander of Dongjiang column. The memorial hall covers an area of about 5000 square meters and the exhibition hall covers an area of 1500 square meters. It was built and opened in December 2000 and is now the patriotic education base of Shenzhen. Yanziling ecological park
Yanziling ecological park is located in the central area of Pingshan, adjacent to Lijing road in the East, Longping road in the west, Pingshan River in the South and Jinniu West Road in the north. It was completed in 2010. The total area of the park is 561600 square meters, including 431800 square meters of natural mountain greening. According to the original mountain construction, the park has 1 wooden plank road, 3 viewing platforms from the top of the mountain to Chunhui Pavilion, climbing path and veranda. Pingshan District Central Park
Pingshan District Central Park is located in the northeast of Shenzhen City, adjacent to Shenshan highway in the East and Danzi Avenue in the north. It used to be a mountainous area.
