Wenshao Town, subordinate to Renhua county, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the east of Renhua county, 32 kilometers away from the county seat, with a total area of 98.68 square kilometers. By the end of 2019, Wenshao town has a total population of 6227. As of June 2020, Wenshao town has jurisdiction over one community and five administrative villages.

In Tang Dynasty, Wenshao area had been inhabited by ancestors. In 1993, Wenshao township was replaced by Wenshao town. In 2019, the GDP of Wenshao town will reach 180.64 million yuan, an increase of 3% over the previous year; the rural per capita disposable income will reach 15975 yuan, an increase of 9.2% over the previous year; and the general public budget income will reach 11.4317 million yuan.

Historical evolution

On January 1, 1958, Wenshao town was put under the jurisdiction of Renhua county.

On October 1, 1958, Wenshao town was changed into Changfu people's commune.

On March 15, 1961, Changfu people's commune was changed into Wenshao people's commune.

In 1983, Wenshao district was established.

In 1986, Wenshao district was replaced by Wenshao township.

In 1993, Wenshao township was replaced by Wenshao town.

Traditional folk customs

Sister Yueyue (another name for Chang'e), also known as the Moon Festival and Mid Autumn Festival, is celebrated in the same way as other parts of China. However, some women in Shaozhen choose to carry sister Yueyue to worship the moon on this day. People tie straw into a straw man to represent Chang'e, and then two people carry it on both sides. Hualin Temple Pagoda

Hualin Temple Pagoda, located next to Hualin temple in Xiaxu village, Wenshao Town, Renhua county, was built in 1082, the fifth year of Yuanfeng in Northern Song Dynasty. It is a six corner, seven story, flat seat brick Pagoda with bucket arch eaves. The height of the pagoda is 19.6 meters, and the length of the bottom side of the pagoda is 1.84 meters. It is an inverted astringent round corner shaped pagoda. It is built with green brick steps, two walls of which are decorated with thin green glaze and a six corner pot shaped niche. It has wooden leaning columns, forehead, Fang and dou Arch, leaning column for lotus petal shape. The first layer is a two-layer lotus bucket arch, with one bucket and three elevators on the front and three one Tiaohua arches on the corner. Both the luodou and the gongdou are lotus bucket; on each layer of the bucket arch, the horizontal paving bricks and corner teeth bricks overlap each other to form a wall, and the eaves are slightly flat, with a rise, and on the eaves, there are stacked Sumi pagoda flat seats, wide seats and narrow ones, with abundant cones on the top and no tower brake. In April 1989, the Hualin pagoda was announced by the people's Government of Guangdong Province as the third batch of provincial key protected cultural relics.

Lutou Shiwei

Lutou Shiwei, located in Tangyuan village, Wenshao Town, covers an area of more than 100 square meters. It was built in 1864. The walls around Lutou and houwei are solid, and the stone and green bricks are well preserved.
