Huailin town

Huailin town is under the jurisdiction of Chaohu City, Anhui Province. It is located on the South Bank of Chaohu Lake and separated from Lujiang County by a bridge in the southwest. It is a pilot town of expanding power and strengthening power in Anhui Province and a provincial central town (deputy county level).

Huailin town is the largest fishing net production base in China, with a total area of 165 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 65000 mu. According to the local chronicles of Chaohu City in 1985, a mouth of the town extends into the lake and there are many locust trees on the mouth. The town got its name from this. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Huailin township. Huailin commune was established in 1958 and changed to Huailin town in 1985. In 1992, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the former hairu township was incorporated as a whole. In December 2005, the supporting reform of village (residence) was carried out, and the former Muji town and the former Huailin town were merged to form a new Huailin town.

Huailin town has a long history and profound culture. Chaoxian shendun site is 2000 meters away from the west of the town. It is an oval high platform and large mound. The surface of the mound is covered with pottery and debris. According to archaeological experts, this is the place where the ancients once lived. It is a Neolithic site with a history of more than 4000 years.
