Before liberation, the demonstration farm only had more than 2000 mu of arable land. In December 1949, Wanqingsha taking over office of Dongguan military management committee took over mingluntang demonstration farm in Dongguan County, Guangdong Province. At the end of 1950, it was officially named Wanqingsha state farm in Dongguan County, Guangdong Province. At the end of 1951, the Guangdong Provincial Committee for the treatment of Returned Overseas Chinese set up the first overseas Chinese farm in Wanqingsha, Dongguan County, which is called the farm of Guangdong Provincial Committee for the treatment of Returned Overseas Chinese. In 1952, the farm was expanded to more than 7000 mu of arable land, and more than 1100 refugees were resettled in Malaysia and Indonesia. In early 1953, it was renamed Wanqingsha collective overseas Chinese farm in Guangdong Province. In August 1988, Zhujiang overseas Chinese farm was transferred from Guangdong Province to Guangzhou city. The municipal government entrusted the Municipal Farm Bureau (changed into the municipal agriculture, industry and Commerce Group Company in 1996) to manage the farm. In June 1989, "Zhujiang overseas Chinese farm in Guangdong Province" was renamed as Zhujiang overseas Chinese farm in Guangzhou city. In March 1991, it was also branded as Guangzhou state-owned Zhujiang overseas Chinese agriculture, industry and Commerce United Company. In January 1992, the Guangzhou municipal government approved the establishment of the "Guangzhou Pearl River Management Zone", giving the administrative and economic management authority at the county level, entrusting the Guangzhou Municipal Farm Bureau to take charge of it, with three brands of "Guangzhou Pearl River Management Zone", "Guangzhou Pearl River overseas Chinese farm" and "Guangzhou state owned Pearl River overseas Chinese agriculture, industry and Commerce United Company".
