History of construction
Terraced area was originally under the jurisdiction of Huashan people's commune, known as terraced management area.
In February 1962, the Tiemian area was designated from Huashan people's Commune and Huaxian state-owned forest farm was established.
In March 1984, the Timian District Office was established, and the Baibuti forest farm in Huaxian county was renamed Timian forest farm, which implemented the management of two brands and a set of people.
On January 1, 1987, the people's Government of Timian town was established, and the original employees of the forest farm were taken over by the government of Timian town.

name
In the Qing Dynasty, there were 360 stone terraces built at the foot of the mountain to reach the mountain (now in the town), commonly known as "Baibuti", which is also located on the top of "Baibuti", so it is called "tiamian".

There are 66 natural villages (polders) and 47 Hakka speaking villages in Timian town. There are 14 vernacular villages, including Tangwu, tielukou, Shaguanping, Dawang temple, chetoudun, gaoyingjiao, Yandun, shanpaijingkou, guiziting, Dawei, gengzailou, laowei and jiaocheling.
