Danqing town
Danqing town is located in the northeast of Jishou City, 63 kilometers away from the city. It is adjacent to paixian Township in the East, Tanxi town of Luxi County in the south, Paihou Township and Baiyan Township in the west, and Pingba township of Guzhang County in the north. It is a town inhabited mainly by the Miao nationality, whose population accounts for 98%.
The town belongs to the continental monsoon humid climate of the transition from the middle subtropical zone to the north subtropical zone. The landform is mainly mountainous, the terrain is high in the north and low in the south, and the peaks are not obvious. The traffic is very convenient. It is connected with 229 provincial road through Pingba township of Guzhang County and 319 National Road through Tanxi town of Luxi County. It is an important material distribution center and commercial and Trade Center in the border areas of Guzhang, Luxi and Jishou. At the end of 2015, paixian Township and Danqing town formed an organic system and merged to establish Danqing town.
On September 27, 2019, it was rated as the national model collective of national unity and progress.
Evolution of organizational system
Jishou City governs the town. In 1950, it belonged to five districts. In 1956, Danqing township was established. In 1958, Dongfeng commune was established. In 1961, Danqing commune was established. In 1984, Danqing commune was withdrawn to restore the township. In 2015, paixian Township and Danqing town formed a system and merged to establish Danqing town.

The newly established Danqing town governs 17 villages and 1 community, with a total area of 125.04 square kilometers and a total population of 8273 people (in 2017). The town people's government is located in Qingming community (the former Danqing Town People's Government).

Geology and geomorphology
The landform is mainly mountainous, the terrain is high in the north and low in the south, gradually low and gentle from north to south, the slope is not very steep, and the peak is not obvious. The main mountains are paitai mountain, sangmu'ao mountain, leigonggai mountain and Gaotai mountain, with the highest altitude of 539.9 meters and the lowest altitude of 153.4 meters. The territory is red soil developed by purple sand shale.

Danqing town has 7285 people, including 3750 men, accounting for 52%, 3535 women, accounting for 48%, and 3880 labor force, accounting for 53% of the total population. It is a Miao based town with 98% of the Miao population. In 2013, the birth rate of the whole town was 11 ‰, the death rate was 6 ‰, the natural growth rate of the population was 5 ‰, and the sex ratio at birth was 97:100. 8273 (2017).

Township enterprises have building materials factories, wineries and so on. Agriculture mainly produces corn and rice.
