It belonged to Liandao County in the Western Han Dynasty, Xiangxiang County in the northern and Southern Dynasties, 35 capitals of Xiangxiang County in the Qing Dynasty, parts of Qingle Township, Anli and 26 capitals, and part of Anshang township of Xiangxiang County in the Republic of China. When the people's Republic of China was founded, it belonged to the working group of Anshang Township, the Sixth District of Xiangxiang county. In 1950, when the township was established, it belonged to Yangliu, Qingjing, Taiping, Zhoushang, Guiling and Xiaoyu townships in the Sixth District of Xiangxiang county. In 1952, Gutang, Qiantang, Leifeng, Qingjing, Zhoushang, Gaoqiao, Taiping, Juhua, Tanmu, Xiaoyu, Pianyu, Guiling, Xianjia, Taolin, dianjin and Xintang townships were located in the Tenth District of Shuangfeng County.
