Lixi Township
Lixi township is located in the southwest of Yuanling County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province. It is located in the upstream of Lixi basin, which is rich in tourism resources. It is adjacent to maxipu town in the downstream. It is composed of three townships: yuanchiping, Aoping and Zhuyuan. With a total area of 298 square kilometers, the township has 16 administrative villages, 276 villager groups and 29013 people (in 2017). More than 85% of the population of ethnic minorities in the territory are Miao and Tujia.

In February 2005, the three townships of Chiping, Aoping and Zhuyuan were abolished and Lixi township was established. Geography
The township is the main concentration place of "Waxiang people" in the county. It has unique local language, local customs and other folk culture. Its mysterious "Waxiang culture" and beautiful natural scenery are fascinating.

History and culture of Lixi Township
The town has a profound historical and cultural heritage. It is located in the Ming and Qing Dynasties architectural complex, which covers an area of nearly 40 mu and has 53 houses, and xiajiaxi ancient residential complex, which covers an area of 26 Mu and 28 houses.
