Dachundian town

Dachundian town is located in the northwest of Qiyang City, bordering Wuxi town in the East, Xiangjiang River in the south, Maozhu town in the main channel, Lengshuitan District in the west, wenmingpu town and Lijiaping town in the north. The name of the town is still used. At the beginning of liberation, dachundian belonged to the first district. In 1956, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, it was divided into three townships: dacundian, hegongmiao and fangmingting; in 1958, when the people's commune was transformed into the national day people's commune; in May 1959, the people's commune system was adjusted and dacundian people's commune was established; in May 1961, the district system was restored and dacundian district was established. In April 1984, it was changed into a rural cooperative. In July 1995, dachundian District Office was abolished and suyouping township was put under Wuxi town as a whole. Xinpuzi Township, dachundian Township and hegongmiao Township were merged into dachundian town.

The total area of the town is 92.94 square kilometers (2017), with 2126 hectares of cultivated land and 37747 people (2017). Xiang GUI railway runs across the town. Qi Da Highway, Li Da Highway and Leng Da Highway crisscross the town, which is known as "Golden Triangle". The town is the grain production base of Qiyang, and also the production base of Camellia oleifera and aloe. Glassware, limestone ranked first in the county, best-selling throughout the country. There are 2 middle schools, 11 primary schools and 4 medical institutions. It is said that Qizhen cave, one of the eight immortals, is the place where LV Dongbin practiced. Wang Guozhen, an envoy of the Ming Dynasty to Guangxi, wrote this great book Qizhen Dongtian, which was carved on the top of the cave. There are Daoguan ruins at the entrance of the cave. There are inscriptions of Song Dynasty and Ming Dynasty on the wall of the cave, and there are several poems. Qizhen cave is a peculiar group of karst caves, which is composed of hall type front cave and roadway type back cave. There are many stalactites hanging on the top of the cave and many stone flowers. There is a narrow road on the left side of the front entrance, which is tens of meters down. There is a water hole and the water is clear. On the right side behind the front hole, there is a big hole, which is located on the top floor of the front hole, just like a story building. It is a wonder and has considerable development value.
