Dabujiang Township
Dabujiang Township belongs to Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. It is located in the southeast of Yongxing County, 113 ° 23 ′~ 33 ′ E and 26 ° 9 ′~ 16 ′ n. It leads to Pishi township of Zixing City in the East, boshui township of Zixing City in the south, Liyutang town in the west, Longxing Township and Qijia Township in the north.
Dabujiang Township covers a total area of 119 square kilometers, governs 13 villages and has a total population of 11203 people (in 2017); in 2012, the annual GDP reached 178.75 million yuan.
Dabujiang township has undulating mountains. Jinbaoxian (zhenbaoxian), a famous mountain, was built in Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty. It is one of the five ancient nunneries in Yongxing County. On the Northeast hillside, there are Buddhist relic pagodas built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty.
Dabujiang local characteristic culture "patchwork embroidery" has been listed in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage protection list of Chenzhou City. Now it has been successfully declared as provincial intangible cultural heritage, and is a research and development project of cultural industry of Hunan University.
Historical evolution
Dabujiang was formerly known as dabujiang, which was written as dabujiang when county annals were compiled in Ming and Qing Dynasties. People gradually got used to the oral language, which was also called dabujiang. The name of the township government is "dabujiang". Dabujiang belonged to Yandao Township in Ming and Qing Dynasties. During the period of the Republic of China, it was Shilong township. After the founding of new China, Yongxing County was divided into seven districts from June 1950 to January 1952, with Longxing city and Qijia in dabujiang as the seventh district, and the district government was located in Longxing city. In July 1956, Yongxing County was reorganized into two towns and 27 townships, and dabujiang township government was formally established. In the spring of 1958, the office address of dabujiang township government was moved from laoxuchang to shiliwan formation of Yuanzhou village. In 1958, dabujiang changed its name to Hongxing commune, and soon it was still called dabujiang commune. In March 1961, some villages under the jurisdiction of dabujiang and Liyutang were divided into pikeng commune. In May 1966, Qianchong commune (i.e. pikeng) was merged into dabujiang commune. In December 1980, dabujiang commune was divided into dabujiang commune and Qianchong commune. In March 1984, the rural system of Yongxing County was reformed, and the system of dabujiang township has been retained.
