Lengshi town
Lengshi town is located in Anhua County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province. In 1995, the whole county withdrew the district and merged the township, and the former Sanzhou Township and Daqiao Township merged to establish lengshi town. The town is mainly located in middle and low mountains and hills, which was established in 1995. It covers an area of 183.37 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 28676 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 16 villages.

Chang'an highway and large and small highways pass through the territory, while Zishui has always been the only way for merchants passing by. By 2000, 48 transformers with a capacity of 2754 KVA had been installed in the town, and the power supply line was 340 km long. All 44 villages (neighborhood committees) were supplied with system power. In 1998, the rural power grid reconstruction project was started. By 2000, more than 4 million yuan has been invested in rural power grid transformation, and 20 villages have completed rural power grid transformation, which has improved the level of safe electricity use.

In the 1990s, 4.87 million yuan was invested in education to improve school running conditions and 19 teaching buildings were built. There are 12192 Mu paddy fields and 14231 Mu soil in the whole town. It mainly produces rice, sweet potato and corn, among which rice accounts for more than two-thirds of the total grain production. From 1996 to 2000, the total grain output hovered around 11000 tons, including about 8000 tons of rice. The area of forest land is 260000 mu, and the stock volume is 381900 cubic meters. Huangmao, Youyi, Longyang, Zhongxi and other villages are key forest areas, with annual timber output of 5000 cubic meters. Since 1996, 20000 mu of artificial afforestation has been completed, young forest tending and ecological public welfare forest protection have been strengthened, forestry production has developed steadily, and forestry income has increased year by year. From 1996 to 2000, the annual income of forestry was 1.519 million yuan, 2.325 million yuan, 2.012 million yuan, 2.152 million yuan and 2.304 million yuan respectively. With the popularization of practical techniques, such as improved breeds of livestock and poultry, mixed feed and changing stocking to captivity, animal husbandry has developed rapidly. In 2000, 21611 pigs were raised and 6811 were sold in the town, an increase of 6071 and 2231 respectively over 1996; 1706 cattle were raised, an increase of 604 over 1996; 5427 sheep were raised, an increase of 4521 over 1996; 63075 poultry were raised, an increase of 32100 over 1996.
