Xiehe Township

Xiehe Township, located in the south of Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, is 19 kilometers away from the district government, with a total area of 59.8 square kilometers. It has two neighborhood committees, namely chaqiyu and Longwei, and four village committees, namely lijiagang, Yangjiaping, Xiehe and huangjiaping, with a total number of 2188 households and a total population of 8024 (2017). The economy is mainly forest processing and tourism. The territory is rich in forest resources and tourism resources, including shuirao Shimen, Baofeng mountain, Bailong TIANTI and other landscapes.

Historical evolution

Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the township belonged to Beizhen, Beigu and Beiguo townships of Dayong county. In 1950, chaqiyu, lijiagang and Xiehe townships were established. In 1952, the township became Xiehe township. In 1958, the township belonged to rocket commune. In 1962, the township was established. In 1984, the township was restored. In 1988, it was separated from Dayong county and belonged to Wulingyuan District of Dayong city. In 1994, it belonged to Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie City.

Resources

The territory of fertile land, rich products, rich in rice, corn, peanuts, tung oil and so on. In 1995 and 1996, the rice seed production bases in lijiagang and Yangjiaping villages were expanded, with a total area of 1500 mu and an output value of 2.5 times that of medium rice, becoming the key rice seed production bases in the city. In the past two years, the township has developed a dry fruit base of 2200 Mu and a flue-cured tobacco base of 1000 mu. Since 1984, great importance has been attached to the development of tourism. Eight hotels and hotels have been built in Shimen, shuirao, with 820 high, middle and low-grade beds. The average annual number of tourists received is 350000. In 1996, the tourism income was 5.8 million yuan. Longwei village introduced 18 million yuan of foreign investment.
