Linan town
Linan town belongs to Lixian County, Changde City, Hunan Province. It is located at the downstream of Lishui River and the end of daoshui river. It is separated from Lixian County in the north, Yaopo Township in Jinshi city in the East, pengping embankment in Daohe Township in Lixian County in the South and Daohe Township and zhanggongmiao town in Lixian County in the West. It is one of the 24 flood storage embankments in Dongting Lake District, Hunan Province. Population 38696 (2017).

At the end of December 2015, the original Linan Town, Daohe Township, zhanggongmiao town and Pengshan village were merged, and the new Linan town was established, and the town government was stationed in qiaojiahe (now the resident of Linan town government). In 1998, Linan was hit by a huge flood, and there was a lot of ruins after the collapse of the embankment. In 1999, the town was built by immigrants. After several years of construction, two new high standard market towns, qiaojiahe and Zhangjiatan, have taken shape, and the infrastructure is becoming more and more perfect. More than 8000 farmers have moved to new houses, and more than 5000 small western style buildings with unified specifications are arranged in neat rows, forming a harmonious and beautiful living area. A Zhangjiatan bridge with an investment of 21 million yuan and two 14 meter wide cement hardened main roads run through the two market towns, connecting Daohe Township and opening the South Gate of Lixian County. Water, electricity, roads, sewers, greening and lighting projects are all supported, with first-class public infrastructure such as primary and secondary schools, health centers, homes for the aged, cable radio and television stations, as well as high standard funeral parlors, crematoria and cemeteries. The town government compound was also rebuilt next to Heping reservoir in 2007. After the settlement of the town, Linan has become the political, economic and cultural center of the southern end of Lixian County. Linan town is located in the south of Lixian County, adjacent to jinyuling street and Xinzhou town in the East, Fenghuo Township in linli County in the south, tingxiandu town in linli County in the west, and Lixi street, Liyang street, Lipu street and Lidan street across the river in the north.

In 2015, the township division of Li county was adjusted, and Linan town and Daohe Township were merged to establish Linan Town, and Pengshan village of zhanggongmiao town was put under the jurisdiction of the newly established Linan town. Pengshan, formerly known as Hushan, is located in Linan Town, southwest of Lixian County. It got its name in memory of Li yuanze, Pengwang of Tang Dynasty. According to historical records. Li Yuan, the king of Peng, was the twelfth son of emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty. He was enfeoffed in Shu, but he was removed from the throne because of his mistake and was appointed governor of Lizhou. During the reign of Li, he changed his ways and did his duty to pacify the people. When he saw "the branches of the ditch and the belly of the river dike are not there", he said "the veins are sparse and the dykes are smooth"; when he saw "the bells and drums are waiting for vibration", he said "the temples are flourishing.". Lizhou "year into Dafeng, government and people, dog barking without police.". Therefore, King Peng was deeply loved by the people of Lizhou. After his death, a memorial temple was built to commemorate him. Because of his posthumous title of "Siwang", this memorial building is called "Siwang Temple".
