Wutuan town is located in the southwest border of Chengbu Miao Autonomous County in Hunan Province. It has a long history. It belongs to moyidong in Ming Dynasty, moyidong in Qing Dynasty and Xianyi Township in Republic of China.

Wutuan town has a long history. It belonged to Mo Yidong in Ming Dynasty, Mo Yidong in Qing Dynasty, Xianyi Township in Republic of China, Jinshui, Jinnan and Wutuan in 1950, Xianyi commune in 1958, Jinnan and Wutuan commune in 1961, jiangtousi commune and Wutuan commune in 1981, jiangtousi commune and Wutuan commune in 1984, Wutuan commune in 1995 and Wutuan commune in the next year Border towns. in December 2015, Nanshan Town was abolished and part of the administrative region was divided into Wutuan town. According to the approval of Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on the adjustment plan of township division in Chengbu Miao Autonomous County (xmxf [2015] No. 122), Nanshan Town was abolished and its administrative areas were divided into Wutuan town and changanying town. After the administrative division adjustment, Wutuan town governs 15 villages (including Pingshan villages separated from the original Nanshan Town) and 2 community neighborhood committees, with a total area of 173 square kilometers and a total population of 13000. The people's Government of the town remains unchanged (Xinzhai community).

There are 11741 people living in Miao, Dong, Han, Yao, Hui and Zhuang ethnic groups (2017).

Wutuan town is rich in mountain forest, Grass Mountain, water energy and mineral resources. The total area of mountain forest is 77000 mu, and the forest coverage rate is 75%. The storage volume of standing trees is 250000 cubic meters. There are 65000 Mu available in the 100000 Mu grassland mountain. It is rich in hydropower resources, with a hydropower reserve of about 10000 kilowatts. More than 3000 kilowatts have been developed and utilized, accounting for only about 30%. Underground there are diabase, tungsten, silicon, lead and other mineral resources. Agricultural and sideline products include rice, pepper, tomato, high mountain Yunwu pear, tea seed oil, beef cattle, goat, medicinal materials, etc. Among them, Gaoshan Quwu pear, tea seed oil, pepper, tofu and Qingshui River fish are famous local products of Wutuan town.

Wutuan town has convenient transportation and well-informed information. The highway from Hunan to Guangxi passes through the border, and 17 villages (residences) have access to the highway, and the program-controlled telephone has been opened. The border market in Zhongshan of the fifth regiment is prosperous and active, which has become the central hub of border trade between Hunan and Guangxi. At the same time, the fifth regiment is also a resting point on the tourism hotline of Guilin Longsheng hot spring Nanshan scenic spot. The ethnic customs in the territory are simple, and the Miao Diaojiaolou, Miao camellia, folk song festival and other scenic spots have the most ethnic flavor. The natural landscape is beautiful, and Baishui cave, maonostril, Pingshan Dujuan and other scenic spots are even more unforgettable.
Economic situation
In recent years, Wutuan town has implemented the three development strategies of "enriching the people by industry adjustment, strengthening the town by industry, and invigorating the town by urban construction". Preferential policies have been issued to create a relaxed environment. Developers have come in droves to set up factories. In 2002, the total agricultural output value of the town reached 22 million yuan, and the total industrial output value exceeded 38 million yuan.
