Hekou Township

Hekou township is located in the northwest of Sangzhi County, bordering jianjiapo and yanwukou townships in the southeast, shanghexi Township in the southwest, Wuya township of Longshan County in the West and Badagongshan Township in the north. It was merged into yanwukou Township in 1995 and restored to Hekou Township in October 1998. The township government is located in Pailu group of Hekou village, 49 km away from the county. The total area of the township is 137.4 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages, 149 villager groups and 8272 people (2017), including Tujia, Miao, Mongolian, Bai and Han nationalities.

Jurisdiction: 20 village committees of Kexi, Tongshi, Hekou, Chaqi, Fuxi, Yizan, Malou, Yangwan, Liangcha, qianmin, Xinnan, Xiping, Linguang, Shazhou, Taiping, Tangfang, Shenzhou, Shangping, Xiaping and Chaodong. The main agricultural products of Hekou township are rice, peanut, corn, soybean, rape, etc.; the mineral products are lead-zinc mine, fluorite mine, pyrite, limestone, etc.; the forest products are pine, sweater, etc., with an annual timber output of 2800 cubic meters. In recent years, the township party committee and government firmly grasp the development idea of "prospering the township through industry", take the increase of farmers' income and financial growth as the main goal, and adopt the development mode of "tobacco on the mountain + Camellia oleifera and tea on the hillside + cattle, sheep and vegetables under the mountain", so as to overcome difficulties and accelerate the pace of industrialization. The development of Camellia oleifera is 1550 mu, tea is 500 mu and tobacco is more than 3500 mu, which has become the pillar industry of our township. The per capita net income of farmers is 1758 yuan.
In recent years, the township party committee and government have strengthened the construction of infrastructure, and the investment environment is becoming more and more perfect. Every village has access to roads, telephones and television. The rural power grid reconstruction project has also improved the power demand of farmers to a great extent. The cause of science, education, culture and health has developed rapidly, including 1 health center, 20 village clinics, 8 primary and secondary schools, and more than 1000 teachers and students. With the rapid development of information construction, every village has achieved broadband access.
Hekou township is located at the source of the Lishui River, with beautiful mountains and rivers. There are mountains and valleys on both sides of the river, with charming scenery and unique tourism resources. The river is crystal clear, and what's more, the drifting of the Li River from the sandbank to the estuary makes people linger back and forth with endless aftertaste.
