Muqi town
Muqi Town, subordinate to Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, is located in the west of Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County. It is adjacent to Yongling town in the East, Yushu Township and Weiziyu town in the south, Shangjiahe Town in the West and nankouqian town in Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County in the north. It covers an area of 439.65 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 17828 households in the town of Mu Qi registered residence.
In October 1958, the red flag commune was established. In April 1961, it was renamed Muqi commune. In October 1983, it was changed to Muqi township. In August 1984, it was renamed Muqi Manchu Township. In November of the same year, it was changed to Muqi town. In October 1998, it merged with xiayingzi town to form Muqi town. As of June 2020, Muqi town has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Muqi town is located at No. 52, Central Road, Muqi village.
In 2018, Muqi town has 11 industrial enterprises and 16 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Muqi town is located in the eastern mountainous area of Liaoning Province, which is an extension of Changbai Mountain. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. With an average altitude of 490 meters, the highest mountain in the territory is bangchuizi, with an altitude of 870 meters.
climate
Muqi town belongs to temperate continental monsoon climate, which is characterized by four distinct seasons and large temperature difference between day and night. The annual average temperature is 12 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 36 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is – 36 ℃. The annual average frost free period is 128 days. The annual average precipitation is 800mm, and the rainfall is concentrated from late July to early August.
hydrology
The main channel in Muqi town is Suzi River, which flows from east to west through four villages of Xiaoluo, Muqi, sailor and Mujia. There are six tributaries of Daluo, xiawanzi, donghanjia, Beigou, Taigou and fulaigou. The total length of the river is 40 kilometers, and the total area of the basin is 1000 square kilometers.

There are five kinds of main mineral deposits in Muqi Town: iron sulfide, gold, iron, molybdenum and granite. The developed Longsheng iron mine is located in hanyanggou, Beigou village, with proven reserves of more than 2 million tons. Other resources include forest land of 41.57 Mu and forest area of 36.7 mu. Natural forest accounts for 70%. The main specialties are more than ten kinds of wild vegetables and wild fungi, such as Tricholoma matsutake, hazelnut mushroom, Pteridium aquilinum, spiny bud, etc. There are dozens of wild Chinese medicinal materials, such as liaowuwei, asarum, dilonggu, etc. There are forest frog, wild boar, spore, pheasant, hare and other wild animals.

The main natural disasters in Muqi town are drought, flood, low temperature, mountain torrent, gale, hail, etc. Several serious floods occurred on July 29, 1995, August 13, 2005 and July 31, 2010. In 2010 alone, it caused a direct economic loss of 220 million yuan.

History and culture
Muqi town was called Muxi in Qing Dynasty. Muxi is Manchu, homophonic for Muqi, which means "niuyangzi", so it got its name.
