Maqiao town

Maqiao Town, subordinate to Huantai County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, is located in the northwest of Huantai County. It connects Jingjia town and Tianzhuang town in the East, Xincheng town in the south, Zouping County in the West and Gaoqing County in the north. The area is 79.12 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 53770 people registered residence.

On May 4, 1961, Chenzhuang commune was changed into Chenzhuang district. In September 1961, Huantai County was divided and restored. In July 1966, it was divided into Maqiao commune and Chenzhuang commune. In April 1984, it was Maqiao Township and Chenzhuang township. In October 1991, it was in Maqiao town and Chenzhuang township. In December 1994, Chenzhuang township was changed into Chenzhuang town. In June 2020, Maqiao town governs 52 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 134 industrial enterprises in Maqiao Town, including 15 industrial enterprises above Designated Size and 39 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In 1946, it was Chahe district (in Chenjiazhuang).

In May 1950, it was changed into the fourth district.

In December 1956, it was Beiying Township, Maqiao Township, Chen Township, mufo Township and Beiling township.

In September 1958, it was the 11th satellite commune (stationed in Chenzhuang); in October of the same year, Huantai County was merged into Boxing County; in November of the same year, the 11th satellite commune was changed into Chenzhuang commune.
