Yuekou town

Yuekou town is under the jurisdiction of Tianmen City. It is located in the south of the city and the North Bank of Hanjiang River. The resident population was 98207 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 10 communities, 43 administrative villages and 1 forest farm, 18 kilometers away from the urban area.

Yuekou Town, subordinate to Tianmen City, Hubei Province, is located on the Bank of Hanjiang River and in the center of the three central districts directly under Tianmen Xiantao Qianjiang River. It is the largest town under Tianmen City, an important part of Tianmen City (central city and yuekou city), the only "national civilized town" in Tianmen City, and the political, commercial and cultural center of Tiannan.

Evolution history

Yuekou, named after the poem "the price is decided by the masts and the train is led by the willows" by PI Rixiu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. Later, it was renamed "yuejiakou", or "yuekou" for short, because Yue Fei, a general of the Southern Song Dynasty, stationed troops here. It has a history of more than 1000 years.

It was the ninth district in 1949 and changed to yuekou town in 1950. In 1995, there were streets. In 1996, it covers an area of 91 square kilometers and has a population of 104000. Yuekou Town, located in the north of Jianghan Plain, is the most important town in Tianmen. It is 18 km away from jingling city center, crossing 113 ° 04 ′ - 113 ° 05 ′ E and 30 ° 28 ′ - 30 ° 31 'n.
