Duobao town

Duobao town is located in the western edge of Tianmen City, adjacent to Hanshui River, Tuoshi town and Jianghu farm in the East, a bridge in Shayang County across Hanshui River in the west, qilihu farm in Shayang County and jiukou town in Zhongxiang County across Hanyi highway in the north, Lishi town in Shayang County and Wangchang town and gaoshibei in Qianjiang City across Hanshui River in the south. The town government is located in "Duobao bay". It is 49 kilometers away from Tianmen City in the East and 210 kilometers away from Wuhan in the southeast. At present, Duobao has a population of 53421 (in 2017), a land area of 196.54 square kilometers (in 2017), a cultivated land area of 7992 hectares, a water area of 2021 hectares, and a forest land of 1423 hectares.

In September 2018, Duobao town was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.

Historical evolution

In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Chu, and in the Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Jingzhou and Jingshan County.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Jingshan County, busi'anlu Prefecture, Hubei Province.

The Republic of China belongs to six and five districts of Jingshan County.

In August 1949, Qianjiang county was designated as Duobao district.

In July 1955, it was designated as Tianmen county and changed into Duobao district.

Shuguang people's commune was established in September 1958.

It was changed into Duobao people's commune in February 1959.

In February 1984, it was changed into Duobao district.

Duobao town of Tianmen City is located in the north of Jianghan Plain, on the left bank of the middle reaches of the Han River.
