Chaoyang temple town is located in the southwest of Hubei Province, in the southwest of Xianfeng, with subtropical monsoon humid mountain climate, 36 kilometers away from the county.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Chaoyang temple town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.
brief introduction
Xianfeng County governs the town. It is 33 kilometers southwest of Xianfeng County, bordering Qianjiang District of Chongqing in the West. Town Party and government organs in shuijingcaoji Town, Qianjiang District, 22 km. Jiaoshi line of provincial road runs through the whole territory. In 1998, it was listed as one of the 25 key border trade towns in the province. The land area is 83 square kilometers (2017), accounting for 8.2% of the total area of the county. The resident population was 13723 (2017). It has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages. The town government is stationed in the water well. It is 17 km away from Xianfeng railway station, 24 km away from Qianjiang railway station and 16 km away from Qianjiang Wulingshan Airport (zhoubai Airport).

Because of the original historic Chaoyang temple, it is named. In January 1950, it belonged to the third district of Xianfeng County In July 1975, it belonged to Yan Dynasty commune. In March 1984, it belonged to Yangdong district and daluba district respectively. Chaoyang temple town was built in 1994. In 1996, it covers an area of 82 square kilometers and has a population of 13000. Tujia and Miao people account for 85% of the population. It governs seven administrative villages, namely, Langgou, Liangqiao, jiwuba, luomatan, wulongping, shuijingcao and changlingshang.

In 1980, daluba township was abolished and merged into Chaoyang temple town. In 2004, the town government stationed in shuijingcao, with a population of 22904 and an area of 197 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages, including shuijingcao, luomatan, jimingba, wulongping, Liangqiao, shepanxi, wangdahai, zhangshangjie, daluba, Maoping and Tanjiaping. In 2005, the town government stationed in shuijingcao, with a population of 23300, and governed 14 administrative villages, including shuijingcao, luomatan, jimingba, wulongping, Changling, Liangqiao, Shugou, daluba, zhangshangjie, Maoping, shepanxi, Tanjiaping, jingzhuping and gaishanxi.
In 1994, Chaoyang township of Yangdong District, Quanshui township of Jianshan district and Pingqiao Township were set up as counties, and Chaoyang temple town was under the jurisdiction of the township government, which was stationed in Zhoujiaba market town. In 2001, the township institutional reform, daluba Township into the organizational system. In 2005, the party and government comprehensive office, the economic development office, the social affairs office and the Ministry of armed forces were set up, with 59 people in total. It has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages and 91 villager groups. The vegetation is rich in layers and there are many kinds of animals and plants. 56 ancient rare trees have been listed for protection, mainly including Taxus chinensis, Ginkgo biloba, Taxus chinensis, Ziziphus jujuba, Pterocarya stenoptera, beech, Tamarix chinensis, Phoebe Fraxinus, and rock horned trees.
Animal resources
The second level national protected wild animals include monkey, mandarin duck, wild cat, pheasant and hawk. The provincial key protected wild animals include squirrel, egret, magpie, bamboo chicken, thrush, myna, wushao snake, WANGJIN snake, wubu snake, forest frog, South China rabbit, wild cat, flying squirrel, etc. Macaques and egrets are mainly distributed along the Tangya river. The main aquatic products are fish culture in Chaoyang Temple Reservoir.

The main mineral resources are coal, stone coal, iron, copper, lead, pyrite, dolomite, limestone, marble, refractory clay, kaolin, silica, sandstone, etc. Coal, marble, refractory clay, kaolin, limestone for cement, limestone for construction and shale for cement are developed and utilized.
Population nationality
There are six ethnic groups, including Han, Tujia, Miao, Korean, Dong and Li, in which ethnic minorities account for more than 80% of the total population. There is a small hydropower station with an installed capacity of 500 kW in the upstream of tuxi River, and a planned power station with an installed capacity of 2 × 4000 kW in the downstream.
The main industries are coal, meat and egg processing, wine making and building materials. In 2004, Bangjian spicy chicken Co., Ltd. was established, with an annual production of more than ten thousand "Bangjian spicy chicken" and a sales revenue of more than four million yuan. In 2005, the total industrial output value of the town was 12 million yuan.
