Kong Long Town

Konglong town is subordinate to Huangmei County, Hubei Province. It is located in the south of the county, adjacent to Longgan Lake in the East, fenlu town and Xiaochi town in the south, Xinkai town and Caishan town in the west, zhuogang town in the north, and 24km away from Huangmei County.

Kong Long town has a total area of 125.36 square kilometers (2017), including a land area of 106.34 square kilometers. It has 35 administrative villages and 3 communities under its jurisdiction, with a total population of 99887 (2017), including 14683 urban permanent residents, with an urbanization rate of 12.7%.

Kongliang town is a typical subtropical monsoon climate, with an average elevation of 13.3 meters above sea level. It is a pilot town for comprehensive reform of small towns in Hubei Province and one of the top ten demonstration towns for safe production in Hubei Province.

Historical evolution

Kong long area belongs to Chu in spring and autumn, Jiujiang County in Qin Dynasty and Huangmei County in Sui Dynasty. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, a family surnamed Kong settled here and built a small ridge dam, which was named after Kong Jialong. From the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, Konglian town was set up. Kongyang district was set up in 1949. After the establishment of Konglian town in 1958, the town, district and people's commune coexisted. In 1987, it merged Town, district and community, and established Konglian district; in September of the same year, it removed district and built Township, and established Konglian town and Zhanghe township. In 2001, Zhanghe township was merged into Konglian Town, still known as Konglian Town, which is under the jurisdiction of Huangmei County.
