Maopingchang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Yuan'an County, Yichang City, Hubei Province, is located in the east of Yuan'an County, adjacent to Jingmen, Dangyang, Nanzhang and other counties and cities, 12 kilometers away from Yuan'an county. Maopingchang town has a glorious revolutionary tradition. During the great revolution, the famous wacang uprising launched the first shot of the revolutionary uprising in Western Hubei. Maopingchang town is a red soil. As early as 1922, the rural customs improvement association was established in fangjiakou (now Xiaoqin village, maopingchang town); in September 1927, "wacang uprising" started the first shot of armed resistance against Kuomintang reactionaries in Western Hubei, and established the first worker peasant democratic regime in Western Hubei - wacang District worker peasant revolutionary government, which pushed the peasant revolution in jingdangyuan to a new climax; in October 1932, the Soviet Nanyuan uprising started The county government was established in Baiyun Village.
