Geography

Jinkou is named after the Jinshui River which flows into the Yangtze River Estuary. It is located in the South Bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the west of Wuhan Economic Development Zone, adjacent to Jiayu County in the south, Hongshan District in the north, and Hannan District and Caidian District across the river in the West. It is 22 kilometers away from Zhifang, the seat of the district government, in the East and 26 kilometers away from the center of Wuhan in the north. The administrative area is 230.68 square kilometers, with a total population of 52560 (2010).
