Hongniwan town

Hongniwan town is located 10 kilometers northeast of Wancheng District, Nanyang City, Henan Province, adjacent to Sheqi County in the East and Fangcheng County in the north. It is known as the "northeast gateway" of Nanyang City Center, covering an area of 135.3 square kilometers and 150000 mu of cultivated land.

Hongniwan town is located in the junction of urban and rural areas, with convenient transportation, superior location and dynamic economy. Xuping South Expressway, nandeng expressway, provincial highway 103 and provincial highway 333 meet here, which is the most populous and largest suburban town in Wancheng District. It is also a town occupied by the Middle Route Project of South to North Water Diversion and two groups of resettlement towns in Danjiangkou reservoir area.

Hongniwan town is located in the central plain of Nanyang Basin, the terrain is slowly inclined from northwest to Southeast, and the Qinghe River runs through the north and south. The land is fertile and the climate is suitable. It mainly produces cotton, wheat, capsicum, cattle, pigs and other crops and animal breeding.

Hongniwan town is named "Henan science and technology demonstration town" by Henan science and Technology Commission, and "Xiaokang town" by Nanyang Municipal Party committee. It has been awarded "beautiful countryside" and "new urbanization" pilot town in Henan Province, and "top 50" town in Nanyang city. In 2014, hongniwan town was listed as "national key town" by seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of housing and urban rural development of the people's Republic of China. In September 2015, hongniwan town was identified as the pilot of administrative system reform of provincial economically developed towns.

Lianzhuang is the memorial site of the Wandong campaign. It has a martyr's tomb, a "monument to the Wandong campaign" inscribed by former Defense Minister General Zhang Aiping, and a revolutionary martyr's cemetery.
