Pangkou Town, belonging to Gaoyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located 13 kilometers to the east of Gaoyang County, adjacent to Renqiu City in the East, xiaowangguozhuang town and Xiyan town in the west, Longhua Township in the north, and pangjiazuo Township in the south. The largest distance is 8 km, the largest 17.6 km from north and south, the total area is 86.11 square kilometers, and the total registered residence population is 50783 (2018).

Pangkou town is named after the town government's residence in xipangkou village. In 1996, gaojiazhuang Township, biandukou Township and old town were merged into pangkou town. As of October 2019, pangkou town has jurisdiction over 26 administrative villages. The town people's government is located in xipangkou village. In July 2014, pangkou town was approved as a key town by seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of housing and urban rural development. On October 14, 2016, pangkou town was listed as one of the first batch of national characteristic town construction demonstration towns by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and other two ministries and commissions.

Historical evolution

In 1953, gaojiazhuang, biandukou Township and old towns were built.

In September 1958, the old city people's commune was built.

In 1984, it was rebuilt into gaojiazhuang Township and biandukou township.

In 1996, gaojiazhuang Township, biandukou Township and old town were merged into pangkou town.
