Gaolin Village
Gaolin village, a town under the jurisdiction of Xushui District, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is a big agricultural town. It is located in the north of Xushui District, 8 kilometers away from the urban area in the south, bordering Dongshiduan town in the East, ansu town in the southeast and south, Suicheng town in the southwest, humu Township in the West and Dingxing County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 11.4 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 10.8 kilometers, with a total area of 65.77 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, the total registered residence of Gao Lin village was 46846.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Beilu; in the late Qing Dynasty, Gaolin society was established. In 1961, Gaolin village people's commune was established. In 1984, it was rebuilt into Gaolin village. In 1996, it was rebuilt into Gaolin town. As of June 2020, 21 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of Gaolin Town, and the people's Government of Gaolin town is in Gaolin village.
In 2013, the total agricultural output value of Gaolin villages and towns was 450 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 7500 yuan. The total industrial output value was 3.86 billion yuan. In 2018, there were 105 industrial enterprises in Gaolin villages and towns, including 6 above scale and 90 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Beilu; in the late Qing Dynasty, Gaolin society was established.
In 1942, it belonged to the second district.
In 1953, it was divided into three townships: shenzhuang, Gaolin and nanzhuangtou.
In 1961, Gaolin village people's commune was established.

Gaolin town is located in the North China Plain, is an alluvial plain, the ground is flat and open. The terrain is slightly higher in the West and lower in the East, and the ground height is generally 11-23 meters above sea level.

hydrology
Pinghe River in Gaolin town flows through tiancunpu and eastward to Shiduan township. From northwest to Southeast, Jizhuo river flows through seven villages: shenzhuang, Dazhuang, houjiayao, Fengzhuang, yuanjiafen, baitapu and xiaoxin'an. The length of the river is 8.5 km. The Tianjin main canal of the south to North Water Diversion Project spans from east to west.

In 1984, greenhouse tomato planting began in Gaolin town. After more than 30 years of development, greenhouse tomato planting has become the leading industry of agriculture and an important channel for local farmers to increase their income.
In 1992, a specialized tomato wholesale market was set up in Gaolin Town, covering an area of 110 mu. It is mainly engaged in tomatoes, supplemented by garlic, potatoes, melons and fruits. Gaolin town has been awarded the title of "hometown of tomatoes in Hebei Province" by Hebei provincial government, designated as "national agricultural science popularization demonstration base" by the Ministry of agriculture, and designated as site linked vegetable supply base by Beijing municipal government.
In 2013, the cultivated land area of Gaolin villages and towns was 59000 mu, with a per capita area of 13.2 mu. All of them were irrigated land, mainly planting wheat, corn and vegetables. Local specialties
Caohe Donkey Meat fire in Xushui is a round fire. It is a special snack in Xushui district and a local snack in Gaolin village. Huoshao is a kind of pasta, which is usually made of dead noodles (the dead noodles are unfermented flour). After it is cooked in the cake pan, it is roasted in the stove to make it scorched outside and tender inside. When it is hot, it is split with a knife, and cooked donkey meat, pepper and coriander can be added. Donkey soup and starch stewed stew, can also be included in the fire with food.
According to historical records, Donkey Meat fire was well-known in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It originated in Caohe town of Xushui District in the Ming Dynasty. At that time, it appeared in the form of horse meat fire.
