Mengla town
Mengla town is located in the outskirts of Mengla County, which belongs to Chengguan town. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Mengla County, bordering Mohan town and Mengman town in the south, Mengpeng town and guanlei town in the west, and Yaoqu Township and Mengban town in the north.
Mengla town has a total land area of 868.13 square kilometers and a permanent population of 68337 (2017).

"Mengla" is a place name in Dai language, "Meng" means Pingba or area, "La" means "tea" and "tea" means "the place where tea is offered". "Mengla" means the place where tea is produced.
