Changbao town
Changbao town is located in the southwest of Mengjin County, with Xiaolangdi Scenic Spot on the Yellow River in the north and Luoyang as the ancient capital in the south. The special line of Xiaolangdi runs through the whole town. Luoyang Airport is close to the rural area. Lianhuo Expressway passes through the southern part of the town. Wangchang Road and Changping Road, the main traffic lines in the north of Luoyang, cross here. It has superior geographical location and convenient transportation. It is a golden land for guests and friends to invest and start business . Changbao town is adjacent to Matun town in the south, Chengguan town and Xiaolangdi town in the north, Chaoyang town in the East, Hengshui town and Xin'an County in the West. The town governs 19 administrative villages, 45 natural villages, 28176 people (2017), with a total area of 41.7 square kilometers. On April 8, 2011, Changbao township was replaced by Changbao township.
In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

Geography and climate
Changbao town is located in Mangshan hilly area in the west of Henan Province, with vertical and horizontal gullies. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south. It belongs to the transition zone of subtropical and temperate zone, with obvious influence of monsoon circulation. It is windy and often dry in spring, hot and rainy in summer, crisp in autumn, long sunshine and cold in winter. The average temperature is 13.7 ℃, the coldest in January, with an average of - 0.5 ℃, and the hottest in July, with an average of 26.2 ℃. The average precipitation is 650.2 mm.

Historical evolution
Changbao town was subordinate to Luoyang County before the founding of the people's Republic of China. In November 1955, the first district of Luoyang county (Matun District) was assigned to Mengjin County. Changbao people's commune was established in 1962 and became Changbao Township in 1984. On April 8, 2011, Changbao township was officially renamed Changbao town.
Changbao town is located in hilly area with barren soil, which can be divided into three types: yellow soil, red clay plus Liaohe soil and black bittern soil. Yellow soil accounts for about 40% of the total land area and red clay accounts for about 50%. The main crops are wheat, Yugu, beans, millet and sweet potato. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the yield of wheat was about 100 Jin per mu. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the yield of wheat increased year by year. In 1984, the total yield of summer grain was 12.16 million jin, with an average yield of 436 Jin per mu. During the drought in spring and summer of 1985, the total yield of summer grain still reached 15.507 million jin, 442 Jin per mu.
Since 1980, tobacco has become the main economic crop in the town, the sown area has expanded year by year, and the economic benefit is remarkable. In 1985, 4034 mu of tobacco was planted, accounting for 62% of the planting area of economic crops. The yield per mu was 263 Jin, with a total yield of 1.059 million Jin and an output value of 1.2 million yuan.
In 1985, the total power of agricultural machinery was 7048.4 horsepower. The machine cultivated area is 8334 mu, accounting for 15.3% of the sown area. The machine harvesting area is 150 mu, accounting for 0.3% of the sowing area. Electricity consumption in rural areas is 420000 kwh. The amount of chemical fertilizer applied was 4.43 million jin, and the proportion of nitrogen fertilizer was 64%.
Since 1979, the breeding industry has developed rapidly, and cattle are the main livestock in the township. In 1985, there were 3842 large livestock in stock, including 3111 cattle, accounting for 81% of the total number of large livestock, and 1316 cows, accounting for 42.3% of the total number of cattle. 461 piglets were born in that year. In 1985, the output of meat, milk and eggs was 434000 Jin, 1 million Jin and 390000 Jin respectively.
Changbao town is short of trees. In 1984, 120 mu of trees were planted, 143000 trees were planted sporadically, and 730.5 mu of seedlings were raised; in 1985, 126000 trees were planted, and 900 mu of seedlings were raised. There are 1536 acres of orchards.
Changbao town is short of water. Before 1970, water for people and livestock in most villages was supplied by wells. Only Longwang, Zhaogou and yinggu villages can irrigate more than 100 mu of farmland near the baishugou reservoir in Matun township. Since 1971, water conservancy construction began. In that year, 22 wells were drilled, 6 water pumping stations were built, 1 reservoir and 2 artesian canals were built, with an irrigated area of 835 mu. During the five years from 1975 to 1980, three reservoirs were built and 42 wells were drilled. 11 small water pumping stations were built, and the irrigation area increased to 4280 mu. By 1985, there were 68 organic wells in the township, including 61 supporting wells; 29 Electromechanical irrigation stations (all supporting), with an irrigation area of 10597 mu, accounting for 25.8% of the cultivated land.
Since its establishment in 1969, township enterprises have experienced twists and turns. By 1985, they have grown to 12 with 141 employees. Among them, the annual output value of color printing factory and coal mine equipment factory reached 180000 yuan and 200000 yuan respectively, with 12 village run enterprises and 374 employees; 53 joint run enterprises and 667 employees; 753 individual enterprises and 2649 employees.
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were only two small grocery stores, one small drugstore and two simple restaurants in Changbao village. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Changbao supply and Marketing Co., Ltd. and Maling, shibeiao, Panzhuang and Wujiawan were established. In 1969, the retail sales reached 720000 yuan, with a profit of 29000 yuan; in 1979, it was 1.5 million yuan, with a profit of 4000 yuan; in 1985, it was 2.12 million yuan, with a profit of 38000 yuan. After 1981, individual businesses spread all over the villages.
In 1985, Changbao village has become a central market town. In addition to the nine sales departments of catering, purchasing, daily necessities, chemical and electrical appliances, and means of production and living of the township supply and marketing cooperatives, there are 18 stores and stalls jointly run in various forms and operated by individual businesses. There are three meetings every month (every eight is the meeting period), and the average turnover of each meeting is more than 800000 yuan. Guaiping village has a tradition of producing and managing glasses, and has become a professional village for producing and managing glasses since 1983. The village has more than 90 households (accounting for 40% of the total number of households), more than 140 people operate, with an annual income of about 30000 yuan. The products are exported to Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shenzhen, Wenzhou, Guangzhou and other provinces and cities.
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, there was only one Tumian road from Luoyang to Hengshui, with a total length of 8 kilometers. The roadbed was widened in 1958 and the asphalt pavement was paved in 1982. Changhua Changbao highway (gravel road), built in 1982, is 6 kilometers long in the township. In 1983, more than 30 kilometers of rural roads were built.
