Zhaizhen
Zhai town is a suburban industrial and mining town in Xintai City, Shandong Province. It is 8 km away from Xintai City, 10 km away from Xintai exit of Beijing Shanghai Expressway, with an area of 64.36 square kilometers (2017). It has jurisdiction over 46 administrative villages with a total population of 75995 (2017), including 53000 agricultural population. The territory is rich in coal resources, including Zhaizhen Coal Mine of xinkuang group, Wangjiazhai Coal Mine of Taifeng group, Yatou coal mine of sunshine group and Xiaogang coal mine of star group, with an annual output of 3.4 million tons of raw coal. It won the title of "central town of Shandong Province" in June 2000 and "national key town" in March 2004. In 2009, the fiscal revenue was 118 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 7845 yuan.
In October 2019, Zhaizhen was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Historical evolution
Zhai Town, formerly known as zhaijiazhuang, is named after its surname. Located in the west of the city, 10 kilometers away from Shizhong District. During the Ming Dynasty, the village was built as the base of Bao, Qu, Xiang, Zhen, commune and office.
In August 1938, the Anti Japanese democratic government of the Second District Committee was established.
Zhaizhen people's commune was established in August 1958. The administrative organ is called the people's Committee, and the government and society are integrated.
The Revolutionary Committee was established in March 1967.
In January 1981, the commune reform committee was abolished and the commune management committee was established.
Zhaizhen office was established in April 1984.
In December 1985, Zhai Town Office was divided into Zhai Town, Quangou town and Zhaizi township.

In November 1932, Zhang Xuexiu was introduced by Wang Jianqing to join the Communist Party of China.
In November 1937, the first party group of Zhaizhen district was established in dingjialin, Houyang village.
In 1938, the Party branch of Houyang village, the first rural Party branch in Zhaizhen District, was established. Li ZHONGJIU served as secretary and Li Chengshan served as organizing member.
In August of that year, the Second District Committee of the Communist Party of China was established. Li ZHONGJIU served as secretary, Cao Liqin as propaganda member, and sun Liqi as organization member.
At 23:00 on February 27, 1945, Wang Xixing, Secretary of Xintai county Party committee, and Wang morwu, commander of the independent battalion, led the county brigade and the nearby village militia to attack the Japanese puppet stronghold in zhaijiazhuang at night, captured more than 70 enemies, and seized more than 100 rifles and one gun.
At the end of June of that year, Wang Xixing, Secretary of the county Party committee, led the squadrons of Zhaizhen and Xizhou districts and a company of the military division to conquer the Japanese puppet stronghold in zhaijiazhuang again. After a fierce battle for one hour, he captured more than 80 people and more than 80 long and short guns.
On August 14 of that year, under the command of Cao Liqin, Dong Di and Wu Zicheng, Zhai town's squadron and militia, through the close cooperation of Liu Guande (a member of the Communist Party of China), the "pseudo Town chief", forced Zhang Fuchun, the enemy's squadron leader, to lead his troops to surrender, and Zhai village was completely liberated.
In June 1946, the Zhaizhen District Committee of the Communist Party of China organized 8181 people's transport teams and stretcher teams to participate in the pre support work of the battles of Lunan, Laiwu, Menglianggu, Jinan and Huaihai.
In 1952, Li Youxin took the lead in organizing 12 farmers to establish lijiashangwang primary agricultural cooperative, which is one of the earliest cooperatives in Xintai county.
In January 1956, Houyang village set up the county's first senior agricultural cooperative, star senior cooperative, which was formed by the merger of 15 junior cooperatives, with a total of 717 households, 3500 people, 535 hectares of arable land and 260 large livestock.
Zhaizhen people's commune was established on August 26, 1958, which is the first people's commune in the county.
In 1959, Zhaizhen farm tool factory was built and put into operation.
In March 1969, Xiaogang coal mine, a local coal mine in Xintai City, started construction. It was completed in August 1971 and put into operation in 1972.
On March 25, 1971, the whole county launched a learning activity from martyr Liu Kuiyu. Liu Kuiyu, a member of the yunzhouhu brigade of Zhaizhen commune, joined the army in January 1970. On July 21 of the same year, he died in the fire fighting to save the national property. He was only 19 years old. According to Liu Kuiyu's application, the Party committee of the armed forces approved him to be a member of the Communist Party of China and recalled his second-class merit. In order to commend the heroic deeds of the martyrs and carry forward the spirit of revolutionary heroism, the county Revolutionary Committee and the people's Armed Forces Department of the county made the decision of "learning from Liu Kuiyu martyr in the whole county", calling on the people of the whole county to learn from Liu Kuiyu martyr.
In 1977, Liuguanzhuang coal mine was built and put into operation.
On May 8, 1978, Li Xiannian, vice chairman of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, Chen Yonggui, vice premier of the State Council, Yang Ligong, Minister of agriculture, Mu Qing, President of Xinhua news agency, and other leading comrades, accompanied by provincial and local leaders, came to gaoyatou village to inspect the farmland infrastructure.
In 1979, Yatou mine was completed and put into operation.
In 1987, Huangnizhuang coal mine, a town run coal mine, was completed and put into operation.
In 1989, Wang Jiangong, mayor of Tai'an City, visited Zhai town for inspection.
On September 26, 1992, the construction of Wangjiazhai Coal Mine was broken, which is the largest local coal mine in the province.

Zhaizhen is located in the north of the central part of Xintai City, which is 117 ° 35 ′ 33 ″ - 117 ° 43 ′ 23 ″ E and 35 ° 53 ′ 21 ″ - 35 ° 58 ′ 40 ″ n. It is adjacent to Xintai City in the East, Quangou town in the north, Xizhangzhuang town in the west, Xiaoxie town and Xinwen office in the south across chaiwen river.
Natural conditions
Zhaizhen is located in mountainous, hilly and plain alternate distribution zone, the terrain is high in the north and low in the south. The maximum distance between East and West is 12 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 9 km, with a total area of 64.36 square kilometers (2017), including 3131.8 hectares of cultivated land. The main mountains are baihuzi mountain, GuZi mountain, Yushan Mountain and Huangshan Mountain, among which baihuzi mountain is the highest with an altitude of 358.2 meters. The main rivers are mailai River, zhaizhuang River and kuilong River, with a flow length of 11.3 kilometers and a drainage area of 43 square kilometers. The main food crops suitable for planting are wheat, corn, sorghum and sweet potato, and the main economic crops are peanut and soybean.

In the early days of the people's Republic of China, the average grain yield of the whole town was 89 kg / mu, with a total yield of about 8 million kg; in 1978, the average grain yield was 287.5 kg / mu, with a total yield of about 24 million kg.

Industry: in the early days of the people's Republic of China, except for coal mining, there were only a few private handicraft industries, such as weaving mats and baskets, spinning and weaving, Ironwood craftsmen, stonecutters and black and white kilns. A handicraft cooperative was established in 1953 with less than 800 employees. In 1958, it began to develop the commune industry, and successively established farm tools factory, building materials factory, distillery, brick factory, coking plant, tractor station and construction company. After 1978, township run enterprises and village run enterprises developed steadily. By 1985, there were 3 provincial, prefectural and municipal enterprises, 12 township enterprises with a total output value of 6.69 million yuan, and 91 village run enterprises with a total output value of 7.13 million yuan.
