Baogou town
Baogou town belongs to Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. It is located in the south of Tengzhou City, on the west side of Beijing Shanghai railway, 10 kilometers away from Tengzhou City. It borders nanshahe town and Guanqiao town in the East, Zhangwang town in the south, Xigang town in the west, and Guohe River branch in the north, which connects Hongxu town. It is 8.1km long from north to South and 9.2km wide from east to west, with a total area of 74.39km2. It has jurisdiction over 66 administrative villages with 78382 people (2017). From January to October 2015, the town's GDP reached 5.117 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%; local fiscal revenue reached 152 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.58%; industrial sales revenue above designated scale reached 7.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%.
Historical evolution
In 1941, the puppet government was established in Tengxian County, which was divided into nine districts and 74 townships. Baogou is now under the jurisdiction of six districts, seven districts and one district of Tengxian county.
In 1943, baogou was designated as the Second District of peitengbian central county.
In July 1944, it was transferred to the Second District of Lincheng county.
In 1952, it was changed into the Second District of Xuecheng county. In 1956, baogou was assigned to Tengxian County as baogou district. In March 1957, Xigang District was removed and merged into baogou district.
In June 1958, the district was withdrawn and the people's commune of China was established. The following year, it was changed into baogou people's commune.
In May 1966, baogou and Jinzhuang communes were removed and baogou district was built together. In December 1968, the original baogou people's commune was restored.
In March 1984, it was changed into baogou Township, and in November it was changed from township to town. It has 8 offices.

Division evolution
Baogou village was built in 986, the second year of Yongxi reign in the early Northern Song Dynasty. Its original name was Chen Xu village. It was renamed Baojiagou village at the end of Northern Song Dynasty. In 1950, it was changed into baogou village.
Baogou village was built in 1581. It was originally named Ximin building. In 1950, it was changed into baogou second village.
Baogou village was built in 1381, the 13th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. It was originally called back street. In 1950, it was changed to baogou three village.
The four villages in baogou are named after nizhuang and Guozhuang. 1950 was changed to baogou four villages.
Lupo village was built in the late Northern Song Dynasty and early Southern Song Dynasty (1120-1138). Formerly known as yunjialou. It was renamed lvpo in the early Yuan Dynasty. Lvchang, located in front of lvpo village, was built in the middle of Qing Dynasty (1726). It was originally a tenant village and was transferred to lvpo village in 1957.
Baqian village was built in the early Qing Dynasty (1620). Formerly known as BaWO, it was separated from the dam front brigade in 1961. It was changed to Baqian village in 1984.
Bahou village was built in the early Qing Dynasty (1620). It was originally a natural village with Baqian. In 1961, it was separated from Bahou group. In 1984, it was renamed Bahou village.
The former Han Palace village was formerly known as Han Palace. It was built in the first year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25). It is the palace of Emperor Guangwu, so it is called Han Palace. In 1976, it was changed into the leap forward brigade. In 1984, the original name of Han Palace was restored and the former Han Palace village was divided.
Houhangong village, formerly known as Hangong, was originally a natural village with the former hanguan village. It was divided into houhangong village in 1984.
Qianhuang village was built in 1337 at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. Its original names were Dongfang village, Xinguo village and Huangfu dam, but it was changed to qianhuangfu village in the early Qing Dynasty. In 1984, it was renamed Qianhuang village.
The former shoe city village was built in the Western Han Dynasty. Because the village is inclined, it is named shoe city after homophonic shoes. In 1984, it was divided into qianshicheng village.
Zhenwa village was built in 1180. The first word of the village's name is Zhen WA, because the terrain is relatively low-lying.
Haozhai village was built in the early Ming Dynasty, formerly known as haojiazhuang. In the 11th year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty, haojiazhai was changed. It was named haozhai village in 1984.
Xingzhai village was built in the early Ming Dynasty. Originally named xingjiazhuang, it was also called xingjiazhai, later referred to as xingzhai.
Minlou village was built in 564, the fifth year of Tianjia in the northern and Southern Dynasties. Originally named shuanglonggou, it was changed to minjialou, and was designated minlou village in 1984.
Xisongzhuang village was built in Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty (about 1380). Its original name was Songzhuang. In 1982, it was renamed xisongzhuang.
Zhaoquanlou village was built in 1529, the eighth year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty. Its original name is Zhaozhuang. It was renamed zhaoquanlou in 1982.
Yang village was built in 1369, the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. Formerly known as Yangjia village. Later referred to as Yang village.
Makou village was built in the fourth year of Chenghua (1468). Formerly known as majiahekou, also known as Mazhuang, it was renamed Makou village in 1982. Shangzhuang, located in front of the village, was built in the early Ming Dynasty and was assigned to Makou village in 2001.

Geographical context
Baogou town is located in the southwest of Tengzhou City. The national highway 104 runs through the whole area. The tuxi highway runs through the East and West. It is about 3km away from the exit of Jingfu Expressway in the East. The total area is 74.6 square kilometers.

Baogou town is a plain town. The town is inclined in the southeast and northwest, slightly higher in the northeast, with the highest altitude of 62.9 meters and the lowest altitude of 43.6 meters. There are two depressions with a drop of about 5-10m. One is MoZhuang Lake slope, about 100 hectares, which is located in the west of ximozhuang village; the other is zhenwa Lake slope, about 300 hectares, which is located around zhenwa village.
hydrology
There are three rivers crossing the territory. The tributary of Guohe river is 8.8 km in length and the tributary of Guohe river is 6.15 km in length. It joins with the tributary of Guohe River after lvpo village and is a seasonal flood channel. Xiaosu river is located in the southernmost part of the territory. It is a tributary of Tengnan cross river and flows through the town for 1.4 km.

The town is rich in resources, including Tengdong coal mine, Jinzhuang coal mine and Tianchen coal mine, with an annual output of 1.8 million tons.
The town is rich in yellow sand resources, with a sand storage area of about 2000 hectares and a thickness of 3-4 meters. There are abundant coal resources in Northwest China.
