Overseas Chinese management area
Shanwei overseas Chinese management zone was formerly known as Shanwei overseas Chinese farm in Guangdong Province. Founded in 1952, Lufeng overseas Chinese farm, directly under the then state overseas Chinese Commission, is one of the earliest bases for resettlement of Returned Overseas Chinese. It has received and resettled nearly 20000 returned overseas Chinese from 13 Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Over the past decades, the management system of Lufeng overseas Chinese farm has undergone many changes. In July 1994, the CPC Shanwei Municipal Committee and the Shanwei Municipal People's government decided to set up a "Shanwei overseas Chinese management zone" at the department level on the basis of Lufeng overseas Chinese farm, which is the agency of the Municipal Committee and the municipal government, giving administrative and economic management functions at the county level and enjoying policy treatment at the county level. The internal organs of the overseas Chinese administrative region are basically set up with reference to the functional departments of the party and government at the county level.
The overseas Chinese management area has 3 offices, namely Huaxing, raohu and Jianshan, 9 Village (neighborhood) committees, 16 villagers' groups, and 18 thousand and 600 registered residence population.

Shenzhen Shantou Expressway and National Highway 324 (Guangzhou Shantou highway) run through the Qiaoqu District, with good traffic conditions. Cement highways are all over the District, and all village roads have been cemented. It is less than 10 km away from the entrances and exits of Lufeng Neihu, Huilai Kuitan and Donggang expressway. It is 340 km away from Guangzhou, 240 km from Shenzhen, 180 km from Huizhou and 110 km from Shantou. It is less than 80 km away from Jieyang railway station, It is 18 km away from Lufeng station and 10 km away from Kuitan station of Xiamen Shenzhen railway under construction.
Water, electricity and communication
There are Longtan Reservoir and Xiangkou reservoir near our district, which are very rich in water resources; there is a waterworks, which can supply 50000 tons of water per day, and the water quality is class I standard. The water supply network is fully paved, which can meet the supply 24 hours a day. There is a 35KVA transmission and transformation power station with independent property rights and connected with the provincial power grid; the high and low voltage power supply lines are all over the region, with sufficient power and normal supply. At the same time, the overseas Chinese areas give special preferential policies to foreign investors. It has advanced optical fiber communication network, smooth communication, excellent service quality, complete network facilities, use of broadband information contact, economic and fast, which can fully meet the needs of project development.
