Tiechang Town, belonging to Erdaojiang District of Tonghua City, Jilin Province, is located in the southeast of Erdaojiang District, bordering hongtuya township of Baishan City in the East, Guosong town of Tonghua County in the south, Donglai township of Tonghua County in the west, and Yayuan town in the north. It is 19 kilometers away from Erdaojiang district government, with a total area of 54 square kilometers.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Tiechang town was a closed area; in 1965, it was changed from Tiechang commune to Tiechang town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in iron factory was 14202. As of June 2020, Tiechang town has four communities and four administrative villages, and the people's Government of Tiechang town is located in Tiedong community.
In 2018, Tiechang town had 105 industrial enterprises and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a forbidden area. In 1874, a coal mine named daluoquangou was discovered. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, coal mining was the most prosperous, which was named tiechangzi, belonging to Tonghua County.
In 1914, it belonged to dongbiandao. In 1931, after the September 18th Incident, tiechangzitun was set up, belonging to the village of shuirehezi (now Dongre village of Yayuan town), and a puppet police station was set up. In July 1937, it belonged to the puppet Tonghua province. In 1945, Tiechang village was set up, belonging to rehezi district.
In 1950, the iron factory was set up, belonging to Tonghua city.
In 1955, Tonghua City and county were set up separately, and Tiechang district was assigned to Tonghua County.
In 1956, it was changed into Tiechang Town, belonging to Tonghua County.
In 1959, Tiechang street was changed to sidaojiang commune.
In 1960, sidaojiang commune set up Tiechang commune.
In 1965, Tiechang commune was changed into Tiechang Town, belonging to Tonghua city.
In April 1985, it belongs to Erdaojiang district.

In 2011, Tiechang town governs four communities of Hongguang, Tiexi, XiMao and Tiedong, four administrative villages of Tiechang, Yixin, Sandaogou and Sidaogou, and 99 resident groups and 16 villager groups.
