History of construction
During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1862-1874), it belonged to the 17th and 18th capitals of chang'anli in Le'an Township and the 33rd, 34th and 35th capitals of Tianshu township.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was divided into four districts and five districts respectively.
In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was Gongfang Township in four districts; in 1958, Gongfang commune was established; in 1961, Gongfang District Committee was established; in 1964, Gongfang commune was renamed; in August 1968, Shandang commune was incorporated into Gongfang commune; in February 1982, Shandang commune was set aside; in 1984, Gongfang commune was abolished and renamed Gongfang township; in 1999, Gongfang township was abolished and Gongfang town was established.
