History of construction
In 1958, Liwei commune and huxingshan reclamation farm were established; in 1984, Liwei commune and huxingshan reclamation farm were abolished and Liwei Township and huxingshan Township were established. In March 2001, Liwei Township and huxingshan Township merged to establish Liwei town.

The ancient buildings of Wuxi village are located in Wuxi village, Liwei town. Wuxi village faces west from East and is arranged from north to south, 310 meters wide from east to west, 450 meters long from south to north, covering an area of 14 hectares. There are 59 well preserved buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including government officials' mansion, scholars' mansion, Zhuangyuan Road, xiuhualou, zhenxiaofang (specially built by Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty), merchants' houses, ancestral halls, archways and dwellings, with an area of more than 14900 square meters.
Wang's ancestral hall is located in shangchiyuanli village, Liwei town. It was rebuilt in 1393, rebuilt in 1970 and restored in 1985. The ancestral hall is made of brick, wood and stone, 40.5 meters long, 18.7 meters wide and 8.3 meters high. The wall is higher than the ridge of the roof, forming a square shape without windows. The door frame and beam of the gate are all composed of carefully carved stone columns and slabs. There are four characters of Wang's ancestral hall on the stone plaque of the central gate, and two stone plaques of Li style "Woody" and "water source" are embedded on the left and right sides of the gate. The ancestral hall is divided into three halls: the front hall, the middle hall and the back hall. Two large patios separate the halls from each other, which is tall and spacious. There is a museum of Wang Anshi's cultural relics in the temple. In July 2000, Wang's ancestral hall was listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
Zongmenli building complex is located in shangchiyuanli village, Liwei town. It is surrounded by a 5-meter-high wall. There are seven big houses in it. The structure of the houses is exquisite, and there are flower beds, fish ponds, horse rooms, orchid pots and other supporting facilities. In September 1985, zongmenli building complex was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Dongxiang County.
