Taoxi Township, subordinate to Xingan County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northeast mountainous area of the county, 32 kilometers away from the county. It borders Fengcheng City and Zhangshu City in the East and North, Qiqin town in the South and Lijiang town in the west, with a total area of 137 square kilometers. It is the largest township in Xingan County. By the end of 2019, Taoxi township has jurisdiction over 7 administrative villages, 1 community and 97 village groups, with a total population of 15000 people, all belonging to the Jiangyou ethnic group of the Han nationality.

Historical evolution
Taoxi street was built in the late Southern Tang Dynasty. It got its name because it was located on the Bank of Taohua River and developed into a market town in the Song Dynasty. Taoxi township is located in Wudu in the late Qing Dynasty; it belongs to the Fourth District in the period of the Republic of China; it belongs to the first district in 1949; Taoxi and banbu townships were established in 1956; people's commune was established in 1958; banbu commune was established in 1961. In 1964, banbu commune was merged into Taoxi township.

The origin of place names
It is said that Li Tianhe, the next of kin of Li Yu, the empress of the Southern Tang Dynasty, was against the imperial court. In order to avoid being killed, he took his family all the way south. When he saw a stream with beautiful scenery and beautiful peach blossoms on both sides, he settled here and changed his surname from Li to Deng. In order to make future generations not forget their ancestors, this stream was named Taohua stream, implying the meaning of "seeing Taosi Li". Later referred to as Taoxi.
