Huanggang town is located in the southeast border of Xiushui County, adjacent to Zhongyuan township of Jing'an County in the East, Yuxi township of Fengxin County in the south, Shangfeng town in the southwest, Heshi town in the west, Huangsha town and Huangao Township in the north. The total area is 316.3 square kilometers. In 2015, there were 3868 households in the town with a total population of about 19000.
Huanggang town has a long history. The Shang and Zhou cultural sites in jiangjiayuan prove that there were human activities in ancient times. Huanggang town was also the center of xiutong Yifeng Soviet. Wumei mountain, 1794 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in Jiujiang City and Jiuling mountains. Hydrological characteristics
It belongs to the Xiuhe River Basin of Poyang Lake system. Anxi water originates from maozhushan and flows into Huangsha Town, with a river length of 46 km. The tributaries are langtian water from Kunshan mountain to Nanping Village, Longgang water from Wumei mountain to Yueshan village and Jinpen water from Qingliang mountain. Fengxiang water originates from youzhekeng and flows into Heshi Town, with a river length of 29 km. The tributary, Huangsha port, originates from tiangouling and flows into Fengxiang water at Shuanggang, while dukeng water originates from shinoli and flows into Fengxiang water at Longxi.
