Xiancun Town

Xiancun Town, belonging to Zhouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, is located in the south of Zhouning County, adjacent to Chixi town of Jiaocheng District in the East, Chixi Town, Huotong town and Hongkou town of Jiaocheng District in the south, limen town in the West and Qibu town in the north. The total land area under the jurisdiction is 158.76 square kilometers. In late 2018, the registered residence population in salty town was 26883.

It is said that as early as in the Southern Tang Dynasty, when King Yue passed here at night, he heard the snoring sound of the villagers and blurted out that "this is a snoring village.". Because "snore" is homophonic with "Xian" in Zhouning dialect, it is named Xiancun. In September 1955, it was renamed Xiancun district. In August 1958, Xiancun, Zaoling and Zhangyuan townships (later renamed commune) were established. In January 1959, Makeng and Shenyang were merged into Xiancun commune. In August 1966, it was divided into Chengcun and Makeng commune. In April 1984, Jianxian village was established. In 1990, the township was replaced by a town. As of June 2020, it has jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 77 industrial enterprises in Xiancun Town, including 6 large-scale enterprises and 58 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Ming Dynasty belongs to dongyangli, Qingtian Township, Ningde County, part of the 14th, 15th, 18th and 19th capitals. In the early Qing Dynasty, the 15th and 18th capitals were under the jurisdiction of zhoudun County, and the 14th and 19th capitals were still under the jurisdiction of Ningde County, which was called Xianshan Township in the Republic of China.

In September 1948, Xianshan township was transferred to Zhouning County, and then Taoyuan Township was set up in Biyan and Zhangyuan of Puxi Township, Zaoling, Zhanggang and zhanjiayang of Xishe Township and Xiancun, yangban, Tongkeng and Yunqin of Xianshan township.

In 1950, it belonged to the third district.

In September 1955, it was renamed Xiancun district.

In August 1958, Xiancun, Zaoling and Zhangyuan townships (later renamed commune) were established.

In January 1959, Makeng and Shenyang were merged into Xiancun commune.

In August 1966, it was divided into Chengcun and Makeng commune.

In April 1984, Jianxian village was established.

In 1990, the township was replaced by a town.

Most of Xiancun towns are low mountains and hills, and the terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast.
