Historical evolution

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the early Republic of China, it was the Xiaojing society in jurenli. In 1934, it was called Jingcheng Town. In 1950, it belonged to Jinghua district and was still called Jingcheng Town. Later, it was renamed Chengguan town. In 1963, it was changed into Chengguan commune. In 1971, it was merged into suburban commune. In 1980, Chengguan town was rebuilt. In 1984, it was renamed Jingcheng Town. In 1995, it was changed into Jingcheng street. In 1997, with an area of 18 square kilometers and a population of 35000, it has jurisdiction over eight neighborhood committees in Dongmen, Dongqiao, Ximen, Xijiao, Nanmen, Xingzheng, Beimen and Beijiao, and four village committees in Jingdong, Jingxi, dingjiao and Fuman.

In December 1994, Jingcheng Town was transformed into Jingcheng street and became the agency of Zhangping municipal Party committee and municipal government.
