Qitamu Town, belonging to Jiutai District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, is located in the east of Jiutai District, bordering Baiqi town of Shulan city in the East, mangka Manchu Township and Hujia Hui Township in the south, mushihe town and Chengzijie town in the west, and shanghewan town in the north. During the period of the Republic of China, Tamu town belonged to the Second District of Yongji County; in 1984, it was changed from Tamu commune to Tamu town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Tam town was 49850. As of June 2020, qitamu town has one community and 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of qitamu town is located in Xinxian village.

History of construction
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the Second District of Yongji County. In 1947, Tamu township was established.
In September 1958, qitamu township was changed into qitamu commune.
In 1984, qitamu commune was transformed into qitamu town.

The town people's government is stationed in Xianxian village.
