Tingzhou town

Historical evolution

In the Tang Dynasty, Tingzhou was established. In the song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, counties, roads and prefectures were established successively. In 1931, the Central Soviet area set up "Tingzhou city". The first district was established in 1949, renamed Chengguan District in 1956, built Chengguan town in 1958, changed Chengguan commune in the same year, rebuilt town in 1965, and renamed Tingzhou town in 1984. In 1997, with an area of 5.5 square kilometers and a population of 53000, it has jurisdiction over eight neighborhood committees, namely Yingbei, Shuidong, Nanmen, Wutong, Dongmen, Ximen, xinei and zhongxinba. In 1998, a new commercial city neighborhood committee was set up.

economic development

During the 20 years of reform and opening up, the people of the whole town have made concerted efforts to transform the old enterprises and develop new enterprises by introducing technology from the comprehensive industries of daily necessities and agricultural machinery. Human history

Tingzhou dried tofu is one of the eight famous dried tofu products in West Fujian. It enjoys a high reputation for paper products, bamboo and wood products and Tingzhou cuisine. The ancient buildings Chaotianmen, sanyuange, baozhumen, huijimen, shuangyinta, evangelical hospital (the former site of red hospital in Central Soviet Area) and yunlange (the former site of Revolutionary Committee in Changting Soviet Area) are well preserved.
