Fengshi town
Fengshi town is under the jurisdiction of Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is located in the southwest of Yongding District, on the downstream of Tingjiang River. It faces Xianshi Township across the river in the East, Qingxi Town of Dapu County in Guangdong Province in the south, Songkou Town, Songdong town and Taoyao town of Meixian District in Meizhou City in Guangdong Province in the southwest, and Hongshan Township in the north.
By the end of 2015, it had jurisdiction over Fengshi street, Jinxi two communities and nine villages. In 2017, the administrative area was 7494 hectares, with a permanent population of 3570. Evolution of organizational system
It was originally called "Qiaotou". During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, with the active market economy and prosperous business, Shuangfengshan, the two towering and precipitous main peaks at shuangbindong, was close to the back of the street. It was also adjacent to Shishi in Guangdong Province, so it was named "Fengshi".
Ming and Qing dynasties belong to Shanghang county to Suli. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was an important town of eight counties in Tingzhou Prefecture. It was once divided into several counties. The county government was set up in Hetou City, and then moved down the pit "jiudengshi". It used to be an important waterway and the largest transit terminal of Tingjiang waterway transportation, known as "Little Hong Kong".
In 1936, it was a special area directly under Fujian Province (including Hongshan Township).
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1942), it was under the jurisdiction of Yongding, known as FENGCHUAN Town, belonging to the first district. Later, it was called FengChuan Township and Shuangfeng township.
In September 1949, it was called Fengshi district and the ninth district.
In April 1957, Fengshi township was established.
In September 1958, Hongshan Township was incorporated.
In October 1958, it was changed into Fengshi people's commune, and later renamed happy people's commune.
In 1961, after Hongshan established a commune, it was called Fengshi commune.
In July 1984, it was renamed Fengshi Township, with jurisdiction over 13 villages.
In 1992, the village committee of Fengshi city was changed into a neighborhood committee system, with the addition of shishitou village. The township governs one community and 13 villages.
In 1994, Huangshi village committee set up xinkeng village.
In 1997, Jinfeng Village of Xianshi township was designated as Jinxi community under the jurisdiction of Fengshi township. So far, Fengshi township has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 14 villages.
In September 1998, the township was removed to build a town.
From November to December 1999, due to the construction of Mianhuatan Hydropower Station, four villages, Dayuan, Sanfeng, Changhua and nijiao, were moved to Fengcheng and suburban areas respectively. Fengshi town governs two communities and 10 villages, and the government headquarters were moved from Sanjiaoping of Fengshi street to Jinxi village.
In 2001, Shuling village moved to Tangqian, a suburb of the city. The town has two communities and nine villages.
