Chimen Township
Chimen township is located in the northeast of Yanping District, Nanping City, Fujian Province, with an altitude of 280 meters. It is located between 118 ° 23 ′ - 118 ° 34 ′ E and 26 ° 31 ′ - 26 ° 35 ′ n. It is adjacent to Jukou Township in the East, Nanshan Town in the west, Yanghou town in the north and Taiping Town in the south.
The total land area of the township is 106.91 square kilometers. There are 9 administrative villages and 64 natural villages with a total population of 7378 (in 2017).
Historical evolution
As early as the Shang and Zhou dynasties, there were dwellings in chimen Township, which was called "Jishan township" in the song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and "Baofu township" in the 18th year of the Republic of China. In 1961, chimen township was named after the village, and in 1984, the community was withdrawn to build the township and the people's government was established.
