Ping'an town
Ping'an Town, subordinate to Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, adjacent to Hanjia street in the East, Hanjia street and Gaogu town in the south, Luming Township in the West and longshe town in the north. It is 34 kilometers away from the government of Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, with a total area of 76.88 square kilometers.
During the Qing Dynasty, Ping'an town belonged to longshe township; in November 2011, it was changed from Ping'an township to Ping'an town. By the end of 2018, the population of Ping'an town registered residence was 12578. As of June 2020, Ping'an town has one community and five administrative villages, and the people's Government of Ping'an town is stationed in Ping'an temple.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to longshe township.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to xialongshe township. In 1932, Pingan township was established from xialongshe township.
In February 1953, Ping'an township was divided into Xinping, Hongqi and Ping'an.
In July 1953, Xinping Township and Hongqi Township were merged into Ping'an township.
In January 1958, Ping'an township was changed into Ping'an commune.
In March 1984, Ping'an commune was changed into Ping'an township.
In November 2011, Ping'an township was changed from township to town.
