Taozhou township is located in the northwest of Anxi County, 88 kilometers away from Anxi County. It borders Gande town in the southeast, Xianghu town in Zhangping City in the west, and Yidu town in Yongchun County in the north. It has eight administrative villages: Taozhou, Lianshan, Xiage, Daxin, Wupei, kangsui, Nankeng and Tangdi. Located at 117 ° 45 ′ E and 25 ° 21 ′ n, the landform type is dominated by the steep slope terrain of middle low mountains.
The altitude of Taozhou township government is 450m, the altitude of the top of the mountain is 700-1244m, and chendouqi, the highest peak in the area, is 1344m. The relative elevation difference is large. The hillsides are mostly straight and convex slopes, and the slope is generally greater than 30 degrees. The V-shaped Valley is developed, the valley slope is steep, and the water system in the area is developed. It flows northward into the Xixi tributary in Yongchun, which is the birthplace of Jinjiang River.
In 2017, the administrative area was 12826 hectares, with a permanent population of 10080.
On June 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of provincial rural governance demonstration towns.

After 1949, it successively belonged to Changkang District, the Fifth District, the thirteenth District, Gande district and CHANGKENG district. It belonged to Gande commune in October 1958, Gande District in August 1961, Gande commune in April 1965 and Gande Township in April 1984. In June 1987, Taozhou township was set up in Taozhou, Tangdi, Nankeng, Daxin, Wupei, Xiage and kangsui administrative villages.
In 1992, with an area of 128.26 square kilometers and 10445 people in 2149 households, the township government was stationed in Taozhou, which governed seven administrative villages, namely Taozhou, Xiage, Wupei, Daxin, Tangdi, kangsui and Nankeng, and Liandi, Yunzhongshan forest farm, gaohui tea farm and dabaohu fruit farm. In 1996, it covers an area of 128.3 square kilometers and has a population of 12000. It governs eight administrative villages, namely Tangdi, kangsui, Nankeng, Taozhou, Daxin, Wupei, Xiage and Lianshan. In 2000, the permanent resident population was 11210. At the end of 2003, the population was 11804.
In 2017, the administrative area was 12826 hectares, with a permanent population of 10080.

(1) Taozhou Village

There is an island at the confluence of two streams in front of Taowei, which is shaped like a boat, so it is named Taozhou. In the 27th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1548), Wang Xun, the county magistrate, established taozhouai and set up a barracks here. The village committee is located in the street and has jurisdiction over 20 natural villages. Kang suishan et al. Wushan temple is located in Wuyan mountain. It was built in 1512, the seventh year of Zhengde of Ming Dynasty. There are many cultural relics and historic sites. The well preserved stone flume and cliff stone carvings used in front of the temple are said to be the site of South Shaolin Temple. The villagers have surnames Zhang, Xiao, Wu, Chen, Su, Li, Wang and Yang.
(2) Kangsui Village
It is 3.7 kilometers northwest of the township government, at the south foot of chendouqi mountain, with an altitude of 850 meters. It is one of the main bamboo producing areas in hilly area. The village committee is located in Dakeng Creek, which is located on the mountain. It has jurisdiction over 14 natural villages. The villagers are mainly Zhang.
(3) Nankeng Village
It is 7.5 kilometers northwest of the township government, with an altitude of 580 meters. Located at the junction of Anxi, Zhangping and Yongchun, it is a remote mountain village in Anxi and one of the main timber and bamboo producing areas. The village committee is located in gongzikou and has jurisdiction over 15 natural villages. The villagers are mainly Zhang. (4) Tangdi Village
It is 5.4 kilometers northwest of the township government, 948 meters above sea level. It was originally called turtle cave. It is said that the ancestral hall of the local Zhang clan is a turtle shaped place. A stone bridge was built at Shuikou. The bridge hole is the entrance of the turtle, so it is named. In 1831, Zhang Jiqing, a native of the Qing Dynasty, changed his name to Gaotongdi, and then to Tangdi, which was one of the main forest areas in Anxi. The main peaks are taihuajian (located in Yunzhongshan), shuangjiling (located in penglu), zhilongfei (also known as shilongfei, located in Dadong mountain), tiziling (located in Yunzhongshan), huyaogouling (located in Shenlong), yutingling (located in Tumen Lane), etc. The village committee is located in zucuoyang and has jurisdiction over eight natural villages. The villagers are mainly Zhang.
(5) Daxin Village
It is 4.3km to the west of the township government, 570m above sea level. Bamboo forest towering, formerly known as dazhukeng. Due to the dangerous terrain, rugged mountain road and inconvenient movement, few people came to visit relatives and friends. Later, according to the dialect homonym, it was changed to Dade village. During the period of the Republic of China, it was combined with xintianping as a protection, and named Daxin with one word for each.
After liberation, the village committee was set up in xiadianzi, dadebanyang, and governed three natural villages. The southeast slope valley of tiziling in the village is the source of Jinjiang River, the third largest river in Fujian Province and the "Mother River" in Quanzhou. In December 2002, the people's Government of Quanzhou City erected the "Jinjiang River source" stele here, with the "Jinjiang River source stele" engraved on the back to show future generations and build the ecological protection project of Jinjiang River source. Xiangsi bridge (stone arch bridge) is an ancient bridge built in the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty (1522-1566). The villagers are mainly Xiao.
Diegoulin mountain is as steep as a wall. It's too high to reach. If a dog passes this place, it will die, so it's called diegoulin.
(6) Wupei Village
In the township government 6.5 km southwest of the mountain, 780 meters above sea level. According to the records of Xiao's genealogy in the village, there is a Nanbao temple under the Xiangshan Mountain in Peidi, so it is named Wupei. It was separated from Daxin village in December 1982. The village committee is located in wupeiyang and has jurisdiction over four natural villages. There are Shengyan Jianshan in the East, xiangluqi Jianshan in the south, fengnange and Wuhu mountains in the west, and xiangongping in the north. The villagers are mainly Xiao.
(7) Xiage village is located 1.1km southeast of the township government, at the south foot of Liandi Jianshan, with an altitude of 800m. Because it is located under a mountain pass, it is called. The village committee is located in Hukeng and has jurisdiction over eight natural villages. The main peaks are jianmuguo, xianmitong, huazhuyan, dalintou, shishuxi, shekeliao, chihouzhai, duzhiling, etc. The villagers are mainly surnamed Wu.
All the immortals are on the side of a mountain, also known as Shandou.
Zhuchenpan is also called chaiqiaolong. To get to the village, you must cross a wooden bridge, so it's named.
Qingshui Pavilion there is a small pavilion to shelter from the rain, beside which is a clear spring, so it is called Qingshui Pavilion.
(8) Lianshan Village
In 1987, it belonged to Liandi forest farm. In 1994, it established a village committee. There are two villages, Liandi and shangshanyang, so it is called Lianshan. The village committee is located in Liandi and has jurisdiction over 10 natural villages. There are Lianhua Mountain, Houge mountain and shibagong around shangshanyang. The villagers are mainly Su and Wang.

Taozhou township is located in the mountains of the northwest border of Anxi County, at the junction of Anxi, Yongchun and Zhangping. Taozhou is a sub hot climate zone with mild climate, abundant rainfall, abundant light, heat and water resources. The annual average precipitation is 1840 mm, the annual average temperature is 21 ℃, and the annual average relative temperature is 82%. It has a relatively low temperature, high humidity and foggy climate. There are 190000 mu of suitable forest mountains, 150000 mu of woodland area, 135000 cubic meters of timber stock, 20000 mu of bamboo forest, 2.8 million Phyllostachys pubescens, and 8400 mu of arable land. With vast mountains, good vegetation and fertile soil, it is an ideal place to develop food, forest, bamboo and tea production.
