Gaiwei town

Gaiwei town is one of the southeast gateways of Xianyou County in Fujian Province. It borders Huating town of Putian County (Chengxiang District) in the East, Jiaowei town in the south, Laidian town in the southwest, Linan town in the West and Bangtou town in the north. Mulan River runs through the whole territory and is the hinterland of Xianyou economic development zone. In ancient times, there was a Taoist temple, which is located at the end of the temple. It produces rice, sugarcane, sweet potato, peanut, longan, litchi, pine, fir, etc. The minerals are kaolin. There are ceramic, chemical and other factories. There is a highway connecting to the suburban highway. The historic sites include shimajiao and Longji temple.

In the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty (85 BC), it belonged to Yexian / Houguan County of Yangzhou. The third year of Wu Yong'an (260), the grandson of the Three Kingdoms, belongs to Nan'an County of Jian'an county. Tang Wude five years (622), is a Fengzhou Putian County. In the second year of Tang Shengli (699), it belongs to Taiping Town, Xianyou County, Wurong Prefecture. In 980, it belonged to xiangtianli and xianxili, Taiping Town / Tang'an Township, Xianyou County, Xinghua army. Ming Zhengtong seven years (1442), belong to Xinghua Xianyou County Tang An Xiang Tian Li. Gaiwei commune was set up in 1958, changed to township in 1984 and set up town in 1992. In 2002, Qinlin village, gainan village and Xinyao Village (with an area of 65 square kilometers and a population of 79000) originally belonging to Jiaowei town were assigned to Gaiwei town.

Gaiwei town governs 25 administrative villages, 489 villager groups, and the town people's government is stationed in Gaiwei. Historical sites include stone horse bridge, six corner Pavilion, Longji temple, five hundred porcelain carvings, and Arhats are the key cultural relics protection units of the province.

In 2017, the administrative area of Gaiwei town was 7026 hectares, with 67789 permanent residents.

Historical evolution

In the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty (85 BC), it belonged to Yexian County of Yangzhou (in Rongcheng).

In 196, the first year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Houguan County of Yangzhou. Ye County was renamed Houguan county.

The third year of Wu Yong'an (260), the grandson of the Three Kingdoms, belongs to Dong'an County of Jian'an county. Fujian Province set up Jian'an county (in Jian'an county), and the south of Houguan county set up Dong'an County (the predecessor of Nan'an county).

The third year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (282) belongs to Jin'an county. In the south of Jian'an County, Jin'an county was set up (in Houguan county), and Dong'an County was changed into Jin'an county (the predecessor of Nan'an county).

Sui kaihuang nine years (589), belongs to Jin'an County Nan'an county. Jin'an county was renamed Nan'an county.

Sui Daye three years (607), belongs to Jian'an County Nan'an county. Jian'an county is located in Min county.

Tang Wude first year (618), belongs to Jianzhou Nan'an county. Jianan county was changed to Jianzhou (in Min County, moved to Jianan County in the fourth year of Wude).

Tang Wude five years (622), is a Fengzhou Putian County. Putian County is located in the middle and lower reaches of Mulan River in the northeast of Nan'an county.

In the second year of Tang Shengli (699), it belongs to Taiping Town, Xianyou County, Wurong Prefecture. Five towns of Qingyuan, Youyang, Taiping, Fu'an and Shibi in the west of Putian County and four villages of Tianma mountain in Nan'an county (Jiulin, Jieshan, xiuxi and Baitong) are located in Qingyuan County (three quarters of Xianyou County, excluding xingxianli / Xiyuan township).

The first year of Tang Tianbao (742) belongs to Taiping Town, Xianyou County, Quanzhou. Qingyuan County was renamed Xianyou County.

The Republic of China belongs to xiangtian town and Xiangbei township. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belongs to four districts, Shima district and Gaiwei district. In September 1958, Shima commune was established. At the end of 1961, it was changed into Gaiwei commune. In December 1984, it was renamed Gaiwei township. In November 1992, it was changed into Gaiwei town. In 1997, it governed 22 village committees, namely Gaiwei, Xianhua, Qianlian, Huban, Shanwei, Changshan, Xiantan, Xianxi, Shima, dongjinggong, Yidian, Juxian, Lingtou, Dongxu, Houshan, Houjing, Xiewei, Xingzhuang, nanbaofeng, qiongfeng, Lianjing and ruigou. In 2002, Qinlin, gainan and Xinyao villages in Jiaowei town were under the jurisdiction of Gaiwei town.

Gaiwei has fertile land and mild climate, which is suitable for planting all kinds of subtropical crops. It is known as the "land of fish and rice". Rich in high-quality longan, especially with the nourishing effect of authentic guiyuangan "Xihuo" and famous at home and abroad. Gaiwei town also contains 20 million cubic meters of sand resources and rich granite resources.

Longji Temple

Longji temple, located in Gaiwei town on the mountain. The temple was founded in the late Han Dynasty, the imperial edict was built in the early Tang Dynasty, and flourished in the middle Tang Dynasty. After that, the temple was rebuilt in the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1899 A.D.), and the scale of the temple was as large as it is today.

Neilong mountain looks like a dragon from a distance, and the temple of God looks like a dragon head, so it is named "Longji Temple". Longji temple is seven rooms wide and consists of two upper and lower buildings. The first seat is for Sakyamuni Buddha, and the second seat is for God.

Shima Bridge

Shima bridge is located in Shima village, Gaiwei Town, Xianyou County. During the Jiading period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1208-1224), Chen Dang, the Marquis of Qingyuan County, was founded and soon destroyed. In the 25th year of Hongwu (1392) of Ming Dynasty, monk Fangshi raised money for reconstruction and built a pavilion on it. In the next few hundred years, the bridge was destroyed many times by the flood, and the magistrate of successive dynasties presided over the repair one after another.

In 1958, the flood damaged three piers, and the people's government appropriated funds to repair them. Shima bridge is an ancient bridge of full stone structure, 190 meters long and 2 meters wide, with 18 piers, 8 meters high and 10 meters span. The bridge deck is paved with rough bluestone, and the stone railings on both sides are 0.5 meters high. There are arohan reliefs on all sides. There are a pair of stone lions at both ends of the bridge, and a stone horse at the west of the bridge. The bridge body is as winding as a crouching wave dragon, crossing the Mulan River. The pier is boat shaped, with sharp ends and slightly concave in the middle, with exquisite and beautiful shape They are arranged in an irregular arc. Shima bridge connects the South and North Bank of Mulan River and is on the main road.

Xianyou first mountain

Xianyou "first mountain" is located on the Bank of Mulan River in Xiantan village, Gaiwei Town, Xianyou County. Although the mountain is called the first mountain, it is not the first mountain in Puxian. Because of its unique shape, it suddenly goes south from northeast to Mulan River, and holds the ancient road of Puxian and the river course of Mulan River. Both water and land roads can be regarded as the throat area. Therefore, Liao Yunlong, a scholar from Putian in Ming Dynasty, wrote three words "the first mountain" at the southern foot of the mountain.

With convenient transportation, Sanjiao Road (provincial road 306), Laibang Road, Xiangang Avenue and puyong Expressway run through the whole territory. Baoshi road connects Sanjiao road and Laibang road from north to south. The hardening rate of rural roads is 100%. Both Xiangang Avenue and puyong expressway have interchanges in the town.

Gaiwei town has sufficient water and electricity supply. There is a 220000 volt substation in the town. The town water supply project with a daily water supply of 4500 tons has been completed and put into use.

Urban public transport

As of July 2015, there are 10 bus lines with stops in Gaiwei. The 10 bus routes are put into operation by county bus company, city bus company and minyun bus company respectively.
