Function development

In the second half of 2000, the Management Committee of Xiangyu Free Trade Zone decided to shift the functional orientation of the zone to focus on the development of warehousing and modern logistics industry, forming a development idea of "modern logistics, bonded warehousing, processing trade and wharf operation", combining the development of harbor logistics industry with the acceleration of wharf construction, expanding the function and development space of the zone, and adjusting the yard and processing land regulations in the zone Row. According to statistics, by the end of 2000, there were more than 10 warehousing and logistics enterprises in the area, including Sinotrans, Taiping logistics, Datong logistics, Sinotrans logistics, Burlington, Shengshi container, Yuli, etc., with a total investment of about US $15 million and a warehouse area of 160000 square meters. In 2000, the total import and export value of warehousing and logistics enterprises was 195 million US dollars, accounting for 58.56% of the total trade volume of the region, becoming an important new economic growth point of Xiangyu free trade zone.
