Wensu town
Wensu Town, a Wensu County in Akesu, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is a registered residence of the Wensu county government. It is located in the southern part of the county. It is adjacent to Akesu city. It borders the village of South and West and the north of the village. It has 24.5 square kilometers in 2018 and a population of 60024.
In 1757, Wensu was named "Aksu". In 1911, the city was divided into Southern District. In 1936, it was divided into the eighth district with five towns. In October 1958, the town commune was established. In April 1969, the town Revolutionary Committee was established. In May 1984, the town people's government was established. As of October 2019, Wensu town has 14 communities under its jurisdiction.
In 2018, there were 475 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Wensu town.

In 1757, Wensu was named "Aksu".
In 1883, a new city was built 15 kilometers south of the city. Since then, the name of the new city has moved with the city. The new city is called Aksu, and the old city (Wensu county) is called Wensu.
