Langqi town
Langqi Town, belonging to Mawei District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is an island at the mouth of Minjiang River. In the East, it faces Mazu islands across the sea; in the other three sides, it is surrounded by rivers: in the north, it faces the rough Lu Island and Hujiang island of Lianjiang county; in the west, it borders Tingjiang Town, a suburb of Fuzhou; in the south, it borders fuqizhou of Fuqi village, Changle district; and it faces Tantou town and meihua town across the river. The area is 88.28 square kilometers. In 2018, the population of Lang Qi town registered residence was 81412. By 2019, Langqi town has jurisdiction over one community and 27 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 30 industrial enterprises in Langqi Town, and 31 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to haipanli, Jin'an Township, Min county.
In the Song Dynasty, it belonged to the East Township of Jin'an in Min County, and its name remained unchanged.
In Yuan Dynasty, hehaipanli and haiquli (Hujiang, chuanshidao, now Maotou Town, Lianjiang county) were jiadenghaiquli.
In Ming Dynasty, it was changed to jiadengli.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was Jiayu District, the second southeast district of Min county.
In 1934, it belonged to four districts of Minhou County.
In 1935, it was transferred to the Second District of Minhou County.
On August 17, 1949, the minjiangkou military and civilian office was set up. In December of the same year, Langqi belonged to the Second District of Minhou County.
In June 1956, it was assigned to Lianjiang county, and in October of the same year, it was assigned to Minhou County.
In August 1958, the district was withdrawn and changed into Langqi town. In November of the same year, Langqi people's commune was established.
In November 1961, Langqi was transferred from Minhou County to the suburb of Fuzhou City.
In June 1963, a district office was set up, with jurisdiction over 10 people's communes and 36 production brigades.
In 1970, it was transferred from the suburb of Fuzhou to Lianjiang county.
In December 1975, Lianjiang county was transferred to the suburb of Fuzhou City.
In 1984, Langqi people's commune was changed into Langqi township.
In October 1991, the township was withdrawn and Langqi town was established.
In November 1995, Langqi town was designated as Mawei District of Fuzhou City.

Langqi town is located at the estuary of Minjiang River, which is the alluvial plain of Minjiang River Estuary. It is the fifth largest island in Fujian Province. The island is surrounded by the river on three sides and faces the East China Sea in the East. It is 40 kilometers away from Fuzhou City, 20 kilometers away from Mawei District, 25 kilometers away from Fuzhou Changle International Airport, 35 kilometers away from Panasonic deepwater wharf, 25 kilometers away from Fuzhou Xiamen Expressway and 146 nautical miles away from Keelung, Taiwan. The island is 15.3 km long from east to west and 8.1 km wide from north to south, and its coastline is 30 km long. The area is 88.28 square kilometers.

The central part of Langqi island is hilly land, surrounded by plains. Baiyun Mountain is 275 meters above sea level, followed by Jiulong Mountain, 255 meters above sea level. The seawall around the island is 42 kilometers, including 20 kilometers of seawall in ten thousand mu area.

Langqi has a subtropical marine climate with four distinct seasons. The maximum temperature is 38 ℃, the minimum temperature is - 2 ℃, the frost free period is 360 days, the daily average temperature is 19 ℃, and the annual average precipitation is 1600 mm. Affected by the tide, the tide drop is 6 meters, the maximum tide reaches 6.8 meters, the average number of typhoons is 2-3 every year, and the maximum wind force is 12.

The east of Langqi is close to the sea for salt water, the tide is smooth, and the bait is rich, which is suitable for sea water and beach culture. Shalukou in the west of the island is fresh water, which is injected from Yanhang River, with a daily inflow of 1.5 million cubic meters. The island is rich in underground water resources, especially many wells, which can be used for domestic water.

The origin of the name
Langqi island was called "Langqi island", "Langqi mountain" and "Jiadeng island" in ancient times. Because the family surnamed Liu moved to the island earlier, it is commonly known as "Liu Qi".

Langqi Longgu resort is located in the east of Langqi island. The total planning area is 9000 mu, and now 900 Mu is developed. Aotou mountain
Aotou mountain is located in Shangqi village, the base village of the revolutionary base. It is a hill with a height of more than 60 meters and a radius of more than 50 mu, which looks like a fish head, so it is called "Aoshan".
Gold Fort
Gold fort is located in Fengwo village, Langqi. It is called gold plug in ancient times. It faces the changmen fort in Guantou town of Lianjiang county across the water, forming a chair angle. In ancient times, it was used to defend Fuzhou and control the first gateway of Fujian sea. The gold medal battery is a battery group composed of several batteries, including the main battery, hillside battery and piedmont battery. At present, the shore fort and hillside Fort have been destroyed. The main fort on the top of the mountain, the remnant wall of the Qing barracks, the training ground on the mountain, the open-air tunnel and other sites are extant. The main turret is composed of two gun positions, which are open-air, concave, lower than the ground level, and of triad structure. The gun positions are 1.43 meters deep, 124 meters in diameter and 7.6 meters in diameter respectively. The barracks is 8 meters wide, 4.2 meters deep, and the remnant wall is 2.75 meters high. The gold fort was destroyed in the Anti Japanese War, and it was a cultural relic protection unit at the district level in 1986.
