Cangxia Street
Cangxia street is located in the south of Taijiang District. It is adjacent to Houzhou street in the East, bangzhou street in the west, Minjiang River in the South and shuanghang street in the north, covering an area of 0.47 square kilometers.
Cangxia sub district office was established in May 1955, located at No. 6, Dagong East Road. By 1990, it had jurisdiction over 11 residents' committees, including cangxia, Zhiqian, Dagong, Pengcheng, Sanjie, yizhi, Zhengyi, LunGong, Zhongping, Houyang and Anyuan, with 7329 households and 43654 residents (2010).

Historical changes
The origin of cangxia
In ancient times, cangxia area was originally the water area of Minjiang River. Due to sediment deposition, it gradually expanded into sandbars from the Song Dynasty, and then connected with the land. In the beginning, it was a lonely place. Later, there were more and more people. Most of the boat people lived here. Its original name is "cangxiazhou" because it faces the front of Yancang (today's cangqianshan). In the Ming Dynasty, "cangxia sunset" was one of the ten scenic spots in Nantai, and the name of "cangxia island" is still in use today.
Prosperous place for merchants
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, the commerce of Taijiang area was prosperous. Along the Minjiang River of cangxiazhou, it was an important channel leading to the upper and lower reaches of Minjiang River. The Sanjie River and xinqiaozi River crisscross the area. Along the river, there are some roads, such as Meida Road, Hengchang Cheng Road, Pengcheng Road, Nanfu Road, niangnimiao Road, etc.
After the five trade, most of the local products and agricultural and sideline products such as tea, bamboo shoots, paper, wood, etc. from the West and north of Fujian entered the trade here. The rise of shipping
Cangxiazhou along the river has always been the berthing place for ships in the upper and middle reaches of Minjiang River. In 1936, the Nationalist government built a wooden passenger and cargo wharf in hengchangcheng, cangxiazhou, which changed the situation that there were only stone revetments and ships were not convenient to dock. The operation of goods and passengers was convenient. Saving the nation through education
In 1897, Chen Bi, sun Baojin, Lin Shu and others founded "cangxia jingshe" in the former residence of Lin Shu, No. 46, cangxiazhou, which was the predecessor of Fujian government secondary industrial school founded by the government in the first year of Xuantong (1909).
In 1907, the American Christian church founded the YMCA Academy in cangxiazhou, which was later changed into a business vocational school of the YMCA.
In the fifth year of the Republic of China, the American Methodist Church, the American Ministry of education and the Anglican Church of England jointly raised funds to build a four storey western style building with a construction area of more than 7000 square meters on the right side of Wanshou bridge (today's Jiefang Bridge), which stands on the Bank of Minjiang River. In the 16th year of the Republic of China, the Anglican Church of cangxia was built at Yixia bridge, which is the Bishop's Cathedral. In the 22nd year of the Republic of China, the cangxia Catholic Church, which was rebuilt from the tea shop warehouse purchased by the foreign bishop sumaso, was also built in Jingyi lane, Shengxing. In the 26th year of the Republic of China, Hu Wenhu, a patriotic overseas Chinese leader, donated money to build a two-story wooden teaching building named Wenhu primary school on the site of the former Fuxing primary school (now the first Central Primary School in Taijiang) in lanweishi (originally a river leading from sanjietou to Pingli bridge, with businesses and families on both sides, and later reduced to a river ditch), and filled the river ditch outside the school gate to widen the road and expand the local community People call this road Wenhu road.
Set up a newspaper
In July of the Republic of China, Nanfang Daily moved from daoshan road to No. 41 Zhongping road. In October of the Republic of China, the Japanese occupied Fuzhou for the second time, and Nanfang Daily suspended publication temporarily. The new Dongnan daily, a traitor's newspaper, was located in Nanfang Daily and stopped publication in the middle of May of the 34th year of the Republic of China. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Nanfang Daily resumed publication. In the 38th year of the Republic of China, he moved to shanjiawei and stopped publishing when Fuzhou was liberated.
On July 1, the 36th year of the Republic of China, Hu Wenhu, a patriotic overseas Chinese leader, founded Xingmin daily at 19 niugong street. In February of the Republic of China, Xieji printing office, founded by Chen Yaomin, an underground member of the Communist Party of China, opened at 12 danshuinong, Zhongping road. Under the cover of open business, they reprinted a large number of CPC documents, progress books, PLA notices and leaflets, and mailed them to Kuomintang military and political personnel in Fuzhou City to coordinate with the liberation of Fuzhou by PLA. At the end of May that year, they were forced to close down for fear of exposure.

After the founding of new China, education and health services in cangxia Street are still developing. Tangkou has jurisdiction over cangxiazhou, Yizhou, bangzhou, Sanbao, binshe and other areas. Most of the believers are boat people. There are often classes for learning to answer questions and to read scriptures, with missionaries and nuns as teachers. They volunteer to serve the children of believers. They are very popular with the church members. In winter and summer vacation, the number of students can reach 50-60.
In 1951, the church actively responded to the call of the diocese. In the "three self" reform movement, cangxia church branch of the Catholic independent reform committee was established to mobilize its members to actively participate in the anti US aggression and aid Korea, anti imperialist and patriotic movements. After the "Cultural Revolution" began in 1966, the hall was occupied by Fuzhou No.7 auto parts factory. In 1981, Fuzhou Transportation Bureau returned the property right of the church to the diocese.
